Sen. Graham Goes Ballistic: President AWOL, Stimulus Process a Joke, "Count me Out!"
Lindsey Graham ^

Posted on 02/05/2009 1:22:33 PM PST by quesney

starting at 4:00

Fox: You say the president has been AWOL...He's been writing editorials, he's been all over the media, you don't think that's an approach that's been work-...

Graham: No, no, no, no. Scaring people is not leadership. Writing an editorial that if you don't pass this bad bill, we're going to have disaster....We've had enough presidents trying to scare people into making bad decisions...[Obama] is not leading. Having lunch is not leading. Getting people in a room like Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neill did to solve Social Security has not happened here. Doing TV interviews is not leading.

We need a bunch of Republicans and Democrats in a room with the White House to find out how to smartly spend money to create jobs and if it doesn't create a job in the near-term, we shouldn't spend the money.

Fox: Do you fear the risk of being labeled a partisan with that kind of talk...?

Graham: If this is bipartisanship, count me out...this process stinks. It's been a partisan exercise in the House and the Senate...I am very disappointed.

...This is not the way you spend $800 billion...$1 trillion with interest!...16 senators behind closed doors trying to figure out how to do it by tonight. That's CRAZY!!

Hopefully, Graham is coming back to the fold. He was very good during Clinton’s impeachment proceedings.

Watch a good Edward G. Robinson gangster movie. You'll begin to understand the Chicago swagger. Did you see Blago on Letterman last night! Talk about chutzpa!

"Isn't this guy a RINO? Color me shocked."

Methinks Senator Graham is pissed because he's not one of those sixteen Senators...

re: using this kind of language to attack Obama and the bill. This, to my knowledge, is the first time a Republican has launched a broadside against Obama.)))

This is true--he has gone a lot farther than DeMint! Well, we have to applaud if he actually fights for our side. And he's taking a risk. What do you bet he'll be on Jon Stewart tonight, being mocked and outed?

At this point I don’t care if he is or was a “Rino”. He stood up and said what needed to be said and with force. For that, I thank him. We need more of our Reps and Senators to take a forceful stand against this shamulus bill.

We keep saying we want our Republican leadership to listen to us and do what we’re asking them to do. So when they finally start saying and doing what we want them to do, it would seem to me that we ought to be praising them for it.

“Either way, we have a Nancy Pelosi stimulus more than an Obama stimulus.”

*****

I don’t buy that for a second. I firmly believe that this is a joint, calculated liberal/communist effort. Obama and most of the Lefty’s are playing games with us - hopefully the GOP is not.

No, no spine, but I do think that even RINO's like Graham have a conscience.

AND I MEAN ANYONE (even a RINO) with a conscience,,,,

vote for a Porkulus Bill that contains,,

FIVE BILLION DOLLARS FOR GROUPS LIKE ACORN????

"This guy never put in a real day's work in his lifetime and everyone thinks he'll have the stamina to be a good president?"

Don't blame us, we didn't vote for the inexperienced empty suit.

Have we a rebellion underway?

God I hope so! Funny how when our Senators act like Republicans we think they are rebelling.

As a Chicago area inmate, I've had my fill of Blago and his antics so I didn't tune him in on Letterman. I'm waiting for Obama to display a R. M. Daley-style arrogance to the nation. Then the gutless centrists who "hope" for nonpartisan civility in Washington will see the mistake they have made at the polls. Independents might not accept having airports bulldozed at midnight. LOL

He is a grandstanding moron that is trying to get reelected. That is the only thing he has ever accomplished.

He just got reelected for another 6 year term. Sounds more like he is practicing for a presidential run... then he can make lord McCain his veep running mate.

The GOP can’t filibuster it, they’re in the minority.
