New charges are likely to be brought against al-Nashiri, probably in federal court. He doesn't belong in a federal court. He is an enemy combatant. That's how the scummy Clintons tried to fight terrorism and it didn't work.

No need to be too bent out of shape here ... just tell the Cole parents exactly when and where the terrorist is going to be cut loose. Just because military justice fails doesn’t mean that justice cannot be served. There are plenty of professional folks out there that can help out, maybe even pro bono.

You freakin Obama apologists can piss off. The SOB dropped charges against someone that murdered 17 U.S. sailors over eight years ago. You do not know his motives, either do we. But to publicly drop the charges against a terrorist that has already killed Americans is asinine and sets a BAD example and ONLY emboldens terrorists worldwide. It is pathetic to see those that want and continue to provide cover for Obama on FR, no matter what he does.
Obama is a guy thats wife said she had never been proud of America. Obama is the guy that went to a Church for twenty years where his pastor said God Damn America, and he had that same man marry him, baptize his children and wrote a book about one of his sermons. Obama is the man that has hung around with a domestic terrorist that founded a group that killed three police officers, blinded another and bombed the Pentagon. Obama is the man that went on Arabic TV right after the election to slam America to his Muslim brothers. Some of us can see the writing on the wall. This is just the same thing Obama has been doing his whole adult life. So do not tell us to relax.

PS Excellent tagline.
Thanks. It is a modified comment another FReeper made. I wish I could claim it as original, but that would be a 'liberal' thing.

This reminds me of the ill-fated regime of Salvador Allende of Chile in the early 1970’s before Pinochet overthrew him.
I do not certainly advocate a military takeover in America but let me put it this way—in the history of the world more regime changes have taken place through coups than any other reason. And if I were a leader with socialist intentions I would rather piss off the regular folks than take on the military. while the former may be cowed into submission the latter have been taught never to acquiesce, but instead to fight to the finish.
Fortunately for Obama democracy is held in high regard in America and military action against the government would not be countenanced even by conservatives.

Relax, guys....New charges are likely to be brought against al-Nashiri, probably in federal court....Moussaoui and the shoe bomber were convicted in Federal Court. Lets not exaggerate. Perhaps. His attorneys will probably raise the issue of a prompt trial. Then there's the admissability of evidence, al-Nashiri having been waterboarded by the evil Bush-Cheney cabal. He'll probably be convicted, but the victims families have every reason to be upset.
Then again, the Obama administration has raised rendition as a possible solution. I don't know his middle east connections, but if he's sent to the Saudis, they'll either release him or behead him.

But weren't other enemy combatants such as Moussaoui and the shoe bomber put in the slammer for life via the Federal Court?

If he is rendered to another country then I will be alarmed. I don't see it happening though.
To: Kleebo151
We’ll see, it’s a solution. The Saudis will probably kill him, Yemen will give him a medal. The question will be the status of his confessions, which he claims were extracted under torture, in civil court. That may be enough to change his mind about a guilty plea. It could be quite a circus.

They say that the crew of the Cole refused to leave the ship, staying with her until she was brought into port. It speaks volumes about the dedication and commitment of our sailors.
