...Senate Democrats struck a hard-won deal yesterday with a handful of Republican moderates...White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel attended the final meetings in Reid's office last night to work out lingering differences. Before Emanuel arrived, Collins said, Democrats were advocating $63 billion in cuts. "Then Rahm got involved, and a much better proposal came forward," she said.

What a colossal doofus, doesn't she realize Rahm knew all along how much they'd cut?? And that she is was being strung along, and that these liberals don't intend to abide by any of this??
Does Susan Collins have any freakin' economic education, or at least someone who knows economics on her staff??
Does ANYONE in the Congress ever bother to ask, "Since we've poured a trillion dollars into the economy since last September and things aren't improving, why will another trillion work?"
I swear, this is the friggin' Twilight Zone. Like they don't know, understand, or care about history.
The media is an absolute propaganda organ of he Democrat Congress and White House. I swear, this propaganda was probably written by them.
Collins need kicked out of the party! I think she really is this stupid.
They didn’t learn anything from FDRs failed policies so it is not surprising they haven’t learned from recent history. I like to say that if federal spending could cure our economic woes, the spending of the last eight years would have prevented those woes from happening in the first place.
>>Pelosi also played down the need for Republican input. “Washington seems consumed by this process argument of bipartisanship,” she said. The House’s $819 billion stimulus package passed without a single Republican vote for it.
Said House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.): “I don’t think much of what the Senate is doing.”<<
NO ADDITIONAL COMMENT NECESSARY!
Hope you heard Senator Ensign on the floor of the Senate this afternoon giving history and also talking about he was one of about 20 Senators that tried to put a stop to runaway spending under Bush. My question is who were the Republicans voting for the runaway spending in the Senate under Bush. Know McCain was part of the 20 Senators against pork.
Collins is dumb as a box of rocks.
I am listening to Grassley — he basically said his amendment doesn’t stand a chance of passing because it helps small business. House health care plan allows people who are fired to stay on their employee’s health plan for 35 years. Grassley is on a roll. Beginning to wonder if if there really is a crises to cover up the stealth healthcare program for all. Medicaid spending in this stimulus is for more then people already on Medicaid. Provides billions more then states will actually need.
Budget deficit over $1T now and will grow to over $2T with this stimulus. How can giving a millionaire money to buy health insurance if he gets fired be right?
What “bipartisan deal”?
I agree that Collins needs kicked out for being stupid.
You called it right. I got banned by our local paper from posting after they ran a story about how bad their money problems were and I said to lay off the writers and go straight to the their source, DNC, Code Pink and KOS...No more posting on articles for me.
Senate Democrats struck a hard-won deal yesterday with a handful of Republican moderates
Not only is it NOT bi-partisan, it's not even a handful.
Unless three fingers make a handful to these idiots.
Obama’s first two weeks have been the best thing to happen to conservatism in the past eight years. Every time that snarling, belittling, racist face of his hits the TV, he loses more Americans.
Since when is THREE “a handful”?
I’ve always suspected Susan Collins was mentally challenged. Now I know.
Well, what does that say about the people of ME, whose last national leader was James G. Blaine?
She is in a huge fight to replace Boxer as the dumbest woman in the Senate.
Now, now...... don’t leave out Patty Murray of Washington state.......a real contender.
I heard on Monica Crowley's radio show today that "the Bama" is hitting the airwaves primetime Monday night. There goes 'House' and '24'. That's a good way to get the American people on your side. What a Jamoke.
