RNC Statement On Obama’s Pro-Union Executive Order (are slave labor camps next!)
RNC head - ^ | February 7, 2009 | Michael Steele

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele today released the following statement concerning the executive order quietly signed by President Barack Obama on Friday ordering the use of union labor for federal construction projects:

“President Obama’s executive order will drive up the cost of government at a time when we should be doing everything possible to save taxpayer dollars. Federal contracts should go to the businesses that can offer taxpayers the best value – not just the unions who supported the Democrats’ campaigns last year. Quietly signing executive orders to payback campaign backers undermines Obama promise to change Washington. It is a disappointment for Americans hoping for more transparency and less politics as usual in Washington.”

In the meantime,..If you have the stomach for it, take advantage of cashing in on his lunatic plans.

My entrepreneurial spirit is leading me to sell cigarettes on the black market.

I bought today's SF Chronicle only to look at the movie listings. Then I was confronted with this crap on the "Datebook" page, a review of an upcoming TV special called "Looking for Lincoln", which sullied the upcoming Lincoln's Birthday celebration by dragging BO's name into it.

"How incredibly prescient of Abraham Lincoln to be born 200 years and change before the nation's first African American president took office.

"Sometimes, it seems as though Lincoln's bicentennial and the Obama presidency were somehow preordained, not just because Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation but perhaps more importantly because Obama has so often cited his fellow Illinoisan as a role model..."

****

These statements make NO logical sense whatsoever. What drivel.

I only ran across this because I wanted to get to the movie listings section. That’s the only reason I bought a paper SF Chronicle. It’s unbelievable. I tried hard to convince myself it was satire or farce.

Nice list and post on O's questionable history.

Add to it that there is some evidence that “his oratorically stunning and deceptively simple message of deliverance from their oppression” may have delivered using NLP/hypnosis techniques, which would be mass manipulation of the highest order. How transparent!

In addition, he spoke of “changing American”; “remaking America”; “creating a new Declaration of Independence”, “ridding ourselves of old ways of thinking and outdated ideologies”, etc. Given the history you cited, it is hard to see these statements is mere political rhetoric.

I think the job should go to the low bidder, but I also think if there are no enforceable rules about illegal labor and sub contractors not providing insurance and befits and proof of citizen ship. Then we should let china bid on the jobs and save some money.

Low bid goes to the contractors with the most illegals.

"It means no jobs for engineers, environmentalists, or any other usual preparation for the digging. They don’t want to pay anyone with any education.

I’m curious...are you in one of those fields? I think you’re right on the nose with this."

Engineers and Architects are not in the building trades, so no union conflict, there are many union environmental engineering companies , union surveyors and Soil engineering companies as well as union inspection contractors, most employ higher educated execs, licensed professional engineers and technical consultants. Most union public works projects will have a dozen or so management types in freshly ironed orange vests watching 5 laborers dig a hole. Often a mega contractor who wins a bid requiring hiring union will have management and labor working and meshing together, Also there is competition for union jobs, ( and it is difficult for illegal aliens to get in BTW) so the craftsman quality and caliber of worker is most often top notch and efficient, able to stay in budget and on schedule. On the converse most non union contractors on public work projects are low bidders, ill equipped and using low waged low performance workers with bad attitudes.

I hope I don't sound like I'm defending the unions, just talking from my experience in construction management

“Move from SSocialism to fascism”

Don’t need a big “MOVE” because they are so close to each other!

It’s one thing to dig a hole for a swimming pool, or put some shingles on a roof or plant some shurbs along a driveway...

It’s quite another to build a bridge or a power plant...

Americans need to rise up with one voice and demand to see the birth certificate of the Kenyan-born interloper in the Oval Office who issued this executive order.

Couched in terms of protecting the project from labor unrest. You can’t make this stuff up.

Wrong, when you misstate historical fact you hold yourself out to the world as a misinformed fool, you are laughed at and ridiculed, you do not promote anything.
