Fairness Doctrine advocate Senator's husband nabbed with prostitute south of Big Beaver(censorship)

Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow has said she wants to re-introduce the Fairness Doctrine.

So to be completely fair, we don’t remember this story from the Detroit Free Press (April 2, 2008) getting too much coverage:

“Thomas Athans, the husband of U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow and cofounder of a liberal talk radio network, told Troy police detectives that he paid a prostitute $150 for sex at a Troy hotel in late February, according to a police report obtained Wednesday by the Free Press under the Freedom of Information Act…Athans was pulled over by police on I-75 minutes after leaving the Residence Inn on Livernois, just east of I-75 and south of Big Beaver, the evening of Feb. 26…When questioned during the stop, he acknowledged he had been at the hotel with a woman he met on the Internet. On further questioning, he acknowledged he had paid the woman $150 for oral sex.”

He was pulled over south of Big Beaver?

Please supply your own punchline.

it is important not to let leftists frame the argument. ask the mod to put “censorship doctrine” in parentheses next to the title.

In Old Testament times, the corruptocrat party members would have been compelled by the great I AM to wear sack cloth and ashes while shouting “unclean, unclean” to warn the decent citizenry of their passage.

Today, they strut and swagger before cameras, grasping tightly to microphones, push tax papers into dark corners, berate concerned citizens for seeking redress.

the 21 yr old prostitute (now 8 months pregant) just went to jail on the charges.

Stabenow’s husband was never charged, in return for his “cooperation”

“I didn’t see it mentioned that he was an executive CEO at failed Air America?”

<<<I posted that link before in another thread about Bill Press radio show and the Michigan senator that is pushing for the “fairness” doctrine.See the link below that husband is exec of Air America...so her husband is in trouble with law—draw from this article what you want, tho an amusing title, to me this is just further confirmation of more “quality people” in power pushing for “fairness” doctrine...

“The scandal is that a leader of the “Fairness Doctrine” revival has a husband who stands (or stood) to gain from her efforts. Who cares what the husband’s screwing? Liberal talk never makes any money, always goes bust, but Senatorette Nanny-now’s gonna give her husband’s liberal talk shows some Affirmative Action if she can.”

<<Agreed, but idea is that a “FAIR” media would have plastered this all over the front page had this been a REPUBLICAN senator’s husband. If nothing else, the conflict of interest is noted in the thread.

“Just a point of information “Big Beaver” is actually a street or boulevard.

I’ve actually been on it.

Whoo boy, this could be trouble.......”

<<<To your first point, I stand corrected, on your second, I won’t go there (literally or figuratively...)

It is not a town in Michigan.Big Beaver Road is in the city of Troy.It is essentially 16 Mile Rd. Farther east,it is called Metropolitan Parkway.

Her husband founded a liberal radio network? No wonder she wants a “fairness doctrine”. Is there something wrong with this picture?

I’m dissatisfied with Debbie Stabenow, too. Just not like her husband.

The dirtiest thing ever said on network television? From "Leave it to Beaver," where June says to Ward, "I think you were a little rough on the Beaver last night..."

This wasn't my joke... I'm only repeating it!

This could very well be taking a play from the Clinton playbook...

Sen Stubby is pushing the censorship doctrine. It’s designed to silence conservative radio. Her hubby is an executive with a leftist radio concern. They stand to make money if their competition is put out of business.

What better way to cover up the blatant corruption than by hiding it with a sex scandal. You can bet that the media will never mention “Err America,” nor their ties to it, with Sen Stubby pushing the censorship doctrine.

And the “innocent” one in all of this is the hooker, who winds up in jail. She’s the real victim here. Well, her and liberty in this country.

Mark
