Waffle House intruders cook meal

A staff report

Two men broke into a Waffle House restaurant this morning and cooked a meal, but left without eating it, police said.

It happened about 2:30 a.m. in the restaurant at 7641 Raeford Road near Wal-Mart, police said.

Two men approached the restaurant as the cook, the only person inside, was closing for the night, police said. The cook would not let them in.

But the men forced their way into the business, police said.

The cook hid in the back of the restaurant as the two cooked about $10 worth of food, police said.

Not only did the men not eat their food, they didn’t clean up nor did they leave a tip, according to police.

"See...NOBODY likes to eat at the Waffle House."

What is this nonsense? Who doesn't like the Waffle House?

They just put a Chick-fil-A near me. I can't understand how that made it all the way to California. They can take that damn thing back and put me in a Waffle House.

My memories of Waffle House is from my college days at East Carolina. At 2 am every Saturday Night/Sunday morning loaded to the gills, we would go to Waffle House on on Greenville Blvd. Our waitress was always the same lady. Her name tag read Mary Mary. (Yes Mary Mary) Very nice lady. Oh the days of my youth.

My kid worked at a WH last summer. He said a lot of the off shift employees come in for a free meal served by their buddies behind the counter and there’s one or two regular homeless types that show up for a free order of hash browns once a day.

What Waffle House closes at 2:00 am? That is when all the non-cooking, paying & tipping customers come in to eat.

And listen to the singing waiters.

Only on Westheimer, of course.
