How refreshing, then, that this presidential campaign season has given us not one but two political husbands to speculate about. First gentleman manqué Clinton is now out of the running, and we know more than we ever wanted to know about him anyway. The other is would-be second gentleman Todd Palin.

Todd Palin, in other words, is one macho man. If you had to be stuck on a deserted island with a political spouse, whom would you choose? Keep in mind that charm and diplomacy don't go out and kill dinner.
To be sure, I'm not likely to be stuck on a deserted island, so why should any of this matter? In our information-driven culture, physical strength has become nearly irrelevant. Yet some instinctual lower-brain impulse draws me to a man who could plausibly save me from a bear.

Given the state of our state, a deserted island is sounding pretty good right now.

This one was originally published in October, but I could not find a post about it. It was linked to on the Iron Dog race website just today. I liked the article and thought some others might enjoy it too.
Is there a Todd Palin ping list? I thought there was. Or a Sarah Palin ping list.

So ladies....
Do you think that Sarah Palin is a possible choice because of her husband? I don't mean that facetiously either. I like him. He's a pilot (as I am, well student anyway), and he seems like a stand up guy. It seems to me that Sarah Palin, were she to run for president, would have a solid husband backing her. I think that the both of them, and their family scare the bejesus out of the media and that's why they don't want to leave her alone.....they're afraid, terribly afraid that she'll throw her hat in, and they are also terrified that all of America will have much more time to get aquainted with the both of them....and there's nothing there not to like.
Thoughts?

It's really difficult to look at these pictures, I am still heartbroken about the election result. I can't help thinking about what might have been. (And no, I was not a fan of McCain in any way, shape, manner or form.)
However, please keep me on the ping list, thanks.

If it is any consolation, many of us are broken-hearted about the result and I think it will get worse before it gets better. That is why we need FR. I would think I was lost in a sea of craziness w/o it because it puts me in touch with others of like mind.
I’ll be glad to keep you on the list.
I can’t stand John McCain, that turn-coat for blaming Sarah Palin for his inadequacies. He lost the election because he is a RINO. He only got the votes he did because he had Sarah on the ticket. Grrrrr.
I haven’t watched any tv news since the election and for the most part politics in general.
But stick with us. We need mutual moral support.

So ladies.... Do you think that Sarah Palin is a possible choice because of her husband? No, I think Sarah Palin is a good choice due to her own merit and experience.
Her husband is just a nice bonus. Good, rugged manly man, family man and let's face it...easy on the eyes. ;-)
