Three reports so far.

From Catherine Moy:

Sen. Arlen Specter must feel like one lucky man today. He wasn’t in his Capitol Hill offices when MAF Chairman Melanie Morgan, Gold Star Mom Debbie Lee, Freepers and Free Republic founder Jim Robinson, and other patriotic citizens stormed his office to demand he reverse his position supporting the porkulus bill, aka the Barack-Blowing-Through- Dollars-Scheme.

MAF, as you know, is a protroops organization, and it is our opinion that this legislation will hurt veterans’ healthcare - not to mention every other American.

We’re really in town for our big press conference on Tuesday, when we release our commercial opposing President Obama’s decision to close Gitmo.

But we kept ourselves busy today. Melanie was at her finest, when we arrived at Specter’s office. For those of you who don’t know Specter, he’s a flip-flopping, spineless bureacrat who calls himself a Republican. He’s also one of the traitors who supports Obama’s spendulus bill. This is why he was a target for Monday’s action, spurred by Kristinn Taylor of Free Republic.

Melanie and Jim Robinson asked to see the Senator. Specter’s front-office staff need to go back to kindergarten to get their manners tuned up. either that or they should go to work at Wal-Mart to pick up some tips from their greeters. A secretary, who wasn’t happy to see American patriots, refused to answer where the Senator was hiding. Jim, wearing his Navy cap, asked over and over about the Senator’s whereabouts, but the secretary wasn’t helping. It was distressing to see a Navy veteran being treated with such disrespect by a Senator’s staff.

Well, the cold-shoulder was too much for Melanie, who decided to take matters into her own hands. She stepped to the closed door leading to Specter’s office and the offices of his staffers, and flung it open. I didn’t take notes on what she said, but it went something like this:

“Come out! We want to talk to somebody right now!!”

The secretary didn’t like this. “You can’t go in there,” she warned Melanie, who promptly ignored her.

“Sombody come out here right now!!! We want to talk to you. Now!!!”

Specter’s chief of staff had finally had enough and came out to face the American citizens who wanted to redress their government official.

Melanie stepped toward him and unleashed a wave of complaints that hit him like a typhoon.

Again, I didn’t take notes, but it went something like this:

“Tell Specter to stop acting like a liberal. We are watching him and we’re not going to let him get away with this!”

Others had a few things to add to that. Debbie Lee introduced herself and handed the chief of staff a card with her son, Marc’s, picture on it. He was the first Navy SEAL to give his life in Iraq, she explained.

Freeper elk brought her five homeschooled children so Specter could see whom he is saddling with trillions of dollars of debts. She was gracious, intelligent and dead on with her remarks.

Specter’s chief of staff kept notes, though I’m not sure he got everything down. He would have to know shorthand to get in everything. But Melanie reiiterated something he wouldn’t forget.

“Tell him WE ARE PISSED!”

He took down the notes with a shaky hand and gave a smile that you might only see on a condemned man as he is walking to the gas chamber.

-------

From elk:

Whew! Just got back from Senator Spector's Office, where I was priviledged to meet Mr. Robinson in person, and see him deliver the letter to someone who I believe was Specter's Chief of Staff (either that, or a legislative aide). He indeed did personally deliver the letter, I saw it with my own eyes. If anyone cares to know, I was the lady with all her 5 kids there, leaving a message for the Honorable Senator not to saddle my children with this unprincipled, un-stimulus-related debt. I want to be able to tell my children that I did all I could to stop this unprincipled pork, and unconstitutional transfer of wealth.

My children were honored to be able to thank Mr. Robinson, in person, for his service to our country. They were also able to thank the Gold Star mom, for her son's heroic sacrifice for our country. I hope they always remember this day.

While I don't think he's listening, I'm glad I went in person to tell Senator Specter that he should vote "no" on the Pork Spending Bill, and I can tell my children that I did my best to avoid them being saddled with this debt.

I was super-impressed with Ms. Morgan -what a butt-kicker! My kids were thrilled to thank Jim Robinson, in person, for his great service to our country.

------

From iMacMan:

Like elk, I was there today. Although we weren’t able to roust out the three senators, we were very well received by the staff we spoke with. I would have to say that elk stole all our hearts with her presentation at Spector’s. But no less should we expect of a dedicated home-schooling mom. Those are 5 VERY lucky kids, though they may not fully appreciate it for years.

While others were speaking I watched the secretaries field phone calls — it was a solid stream. I didn’t see them all, but only one of those I DID see was actually listening — AND read back the message she was to deliver to her Senator to make sure she had it right. Most were just trying to stay awake. Collins’ aide admitted the calls were running some 7 to 1 against the bill.

Jim made a spectacular presentation — obviously from the heart and right on point — we can all be proud of him — actually showing up in their offices will most certainly count for a lot. (BTW, the entire buildings were flooded with Acorn reps — wearing their cute little buttons — but, then, who wouldn’t for the 4.1 or so BILLION $$ written into the bill for them alone!)

Melanie and her MAF cohorts did an excellent job as well — a real asset to the group. Others of us, FReepers and lurkers alike pitched in with their own concerns and suggestions — way too many to list them all here.

I, for one, will not hesitate to do this again on a such a critical measure.

WOW! You are each magnificent Americans going to great lengths to stand up and speak for us all. (Hopefully there were plenty of FReepers who helped out by faxing and phoning today!) This whole after action report made me cry, filled me with great hope and a desire to help move forward in any way I can to stop this monster or poison porkulus! Also the note about all the ACORN commies taking over down there made me angry!! And that money they are going to get--well I can't even go there with out thinking very bad thoughts :-( or :-).

Thank you all for your courage, discipline, focus, intelligence, forethought, no BS attitude and actions to back that up, and most of all for your commitment to our country.

Wish I could say more, but I will say I am so very happy to know--even if it is just virtually--such fantastic human beings.

Is there any way to start a recall campaign against Specter? I am tired of him being a fraud. In the last election, he sent notices to all the democrats in PA to switch their registration so they could vote for him in the Republican primary.

The worst day of my life was the day Santorum lost in PA. Well—actually the worst day was when Obama won, but, whatever.

We are really grateful that you guys did such a splendid job today. I had no idea it was going to be a barnstorming event.

It’s inspiring. Wish it could change Spector but know that is doubtful.

Great report, Krisinn! We had a great time today. Melanie was magnificent! In fact all of the FReepers and folks from Move America Forward were great!! Some very passionate and articulate arguments were advanced. Unfortunately we did not get to speak directly to the Senators but we did get to speak to their staffs and in a couple cases their chief of staff. And the phones were ringing non-stop the whole time we were there. Their staffers admitted that the vast majority of the callers are opposed to the Porkulus bill. You could hope that the senators would get the message.

Keep those calls and letters going, folks! They’ll never get the message if we don’t give it them! With all barrels!!

The only Specter phone system still able to take a message is the Wilkes Barre line 570 826-6265.

Let’s flood the system with NO comments.

Wilkes Barre mailbox is full now as well.

Thank you to all the dedicated Freepers who ventured into the DC political swamp. I thought of you often during the day, and wish I could have been there too.

Excellent, I posted the link to this thread and the video at my National blog site at http://redcounty.com and I think we found our first 3 senators to take out in the first primary.... http://primarychallenge.org

Now we need to list the house members that we need to target for the primary of 2010

The whole of the Senate office building was filled with dirty little weasels representing ACORN? Good thing I didn’t go, I would have had an uncontrollable urge to punch one of them.

If we are forced to go to battle for our country, I say let it begin with ACORN. Let's wipe them out one way or another. Infiltrate and sabotague, and get radical if need be. That org. has the power and the money to destroy this country. Are we going to let them?
