"Fresno, Ca.-Dozens of out-of-work construction workers picketed outside the offices of state Senator Dave Cogdill and Assemblyman Mike Villines to encourage them and other California lawmakers to resolve the budget crisis before its too late."

"Sewell has been a construction worker all his life, and out of work for the last four months; he's one of many who's life has been put on hold by the long-running budget deadlock at the state's capital."

Well guys, help is on the way. If you are an illegal alien, or a union member, preferably not a white male, jobs jobs jobs are in your future.

I'm not unsympathetic to the workers. It might be the bias of the writers to just happen to mention the names of Republican Assemblyman and a Republican Senator instead of pointing to some Democrats.

They might want to pressure their congress critters for tougher immigration enforcement. Illegal Mexicans will under cut you on construction jobs in a heart beat.

Especially after they throw the doors open at the borders and grant total amnesty to the illegals already here.

All that money in the porkulus will be divided up amongst them to help them get homes, food, medical, etc,.

I expect the Socialists to do this sometime this year actually. Mark my words. They need more Democrat Socialist support early before the 2010 elections.

Coincidentally enough, the article doesn't mention if they are union members. But since the article pointed out that they rallied outside of REPUBLICAN offices, what are the chances that they just might belong to a union. And maybe even, their unions TOLD them to rally OR ELSE!

There are of course, a LOT of construction workers out of work now in California. It's hardly the fault of the Republicans though.

These are sad times when we actually have to say “I’m not unsympathetic to the workers.”. The big government machine put’s them out of work, blames us, and we defend ourselves. We should be attacking the failed government policies that got those workers unemployed. The country is back-a$$wards these days.
