Video only, with a commercial for Super Pawn first. Still the video is rather revealing. There ought to be a written account out there somewhere.

TOPICS: Crime/Corruption; Culture/Society; News/Current Events; US: Arizona
KEYWORDS: arizona; banglist; homedefense; homeinvasion; video
I think survellance cameras are going to become a standard item for homes.

Homeowner needs to spend some more time at the range...

I think I’d find a new neighborhood; that is, after a refresher course at the range.

You saw the need for more range time - I saw the value of armed resistance.

I'm with you brother!

I also thought the two rounds in the windshield were well placed. An RPG would have produced the desired effect for me. ;)

There is more to this story than was in the news broadcast.

Dedicated, home-invasion thieves usually plan to steal when no one is home and when they cannot be easily identified after the fact (i.e., after dark). They also customarily have the means of hauling off whatever they have stolen, e.g., a truck or van vice a sedan....

Four individuals show up in broad daylight with some pretty heavy firepower. A hand full of rifle (AR-15 or M-16) leaves only one hand for hauling off loot.

How many suburban homes have surveillance cameras? How many home owners keep a firearm "convenient" to the front door?

How about some other questions: Isn't Tucson relatively close to the border? Don't lots of drugs come across that border? On the Mexican side of the border weren't there 6,000 drug related murders last year?

In an intuitive "leap into the unknown," I'll wager that drugs were involved in this situation. If that is, in deed, the case, the question now becomes how? Gang warfare or hired "hits" look more reasonable as a motivation in this case than simple "home invasion." However, the obvious question is why was this particular home selected and why was the home owner so apparently well prepared?

I carry a gun on me at all times (XD9 3”) two in my car, and loaded for bear in the house. Wife is a bit paranoid about that but we have no kids and they are out of sight but accessible.
I also carry a gun because I cannot carry a cop.

Imagine the White House viewing this clip......thinking about what they have to do to stop gun violence........it wont start with immigration!

Agreed.

Sure is, and crossing there is like a walk in the park. I'm also fairly close to the border here in South Texas, but we're somewhat north of the BP checkpoints. The most trouble we have in this small town is late-night rolling-thunder ghetto blasters and parties. I wish there were some sort of magnetic pulse generator I could turn on and disable those damned speakers.

I agree with your analysis...there is more to this story then a simple ‘home invasion’.

My money's on kidnapping, with a victim that wasn't coming back alive (attackers weren't wearing masks). A hit doesn't require four guys, and it's bad form to walk in, and blow him away while your high-profile vehicle sits parked in the victim's driveway. Same thing for home invasion/robbery or rival gang drug raid. I'm guessing a quick snatch and grab met with bad pre-op intel. Very bad intel. Some of my family are Mexicans. They've endured this crap for decades. In Mexico city it's not uncommon for the poor local green grocer to get snatched for as little as $500 ransom. If you're upper class, you're featured on the menu big time. Residential compound walls, security doors, cameras, and heavily armed private guards are standard fare. Now this crap's coming here. Looks like I'll be working overtime from now on (see tag line).

Funny as hell is right, G3. I could have some real fun smoking speakers with one of those.

I had some fun with my pro audio sound system one afternoon when the kids next door were hurting my ears with their outrageously loud rap systems. I turned mine on and gave them 2000 watts of Mozart for a few minutes, then continued loading up for my own show after they left. That took some effort, but I haven’t had to deal with their noise since.

2000 ??? wowser...Mozart mustve been smiling ear to ear...

once upon a time we did that in a 4 unit apartment, only with twanin country music...

African-american [purposeful case sensitivity] neighbors turned theirs down and called 'security' who showed up and preceded to cut the power to our apt, then come bangin on the door...

I greeted him with the Defender in hand...I'll never forget the look on his face as he backed across the hall into the neighbors door...[the staircase was on my side of the hall]...he immediately yelled to his partner to 'turn it back on'...

the eviction notice came 3 days later...mrs G and I bought our first house for less than we were payin in rent at that ethnic rat trap...

their cable line also ran thru our clost...wonder if they realized why 'cribs' suddenly went off the air...
