"Maybe someday we'll have a Black studies course that will include White children, that they can come into and learn but right now that's not what we're targeting. We're targeting Black students to give them a place in the academic system to where they can realize the the importance of their own culture."
That's fine, as long as the White Studies course can proceed uninhibited, exclusive to those we're targeting. Everyone okay with that?

Wait a minute—if non-black males are as “judgmental” and hostile toward black women’s literature as this school makes them out to be, does it not follow that non-black males would benefit the most from this class? Sounds like the pastor’s cooking up some biting sermons for the choir.

“The biggest problem we have in teaching Black literature is judgment and when you do that, when you teach it to children who are not familiar with the culture, not familiar with the writings then they jump automatically to judgments about the culture.”
So, what if the student is of mixed race? Or for that matter, what if the student is an exchange student from Ghana or Eritrea, or is a French-born Haitian? Clearly these students would not share the same cultural experience and background as most black Americans - should they be barred from the class as well?
Dumb, dumb, dumb idea.

For a second there, I thought the school was offering aviation classes only to black females. I was about to get angry.Aviation, the last bastion for the white male (Ace). I know, I bred one, and have a grandson about to enter the pipeline.
