The perp lived. Maybe he'll get a radio show in prison and become a hero to the left.

Maybe like Mumia, he’ll be asked to be the commencement speaker at some far left college like Oberlin in Ohio.

‘How many times will this have to happen before people do what is right?’”

We all know what that means

slightly off topic

I notice the Virginian-Pilot each Saturday publishes the number of Armed Forces killed that week, and more.

I wish they would place beside that article the number of murders in Hampton Roads, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, WDC, NY and LA, and sum total for US..

If you lived in any of those cities, it appears you would be safer in Baghdad

It’s been years since I’ve read the book, but the sheer imagery of the title and it’s connotation is beautiful; ATLAS SHRUGGED,, isn’t it time?

Now that the porkulus bill is passed, how will we feel when the cops are the only people who are legally armed?

We may be looking at this with a different eye a few months from now.

Yes. This is a tragedy......feeling pretty low.

"We all know what that means."

Throw away the crack pipe? Don't do drugs? Don't shoot at cops?...naw, that's asking too much.

I think it is time we riot and cause mayhem when ever this happens! You just DO NOT kill a cop (or any one for that matter).

Sadly I think you are right but I do not see most Americans turning their guns over easily. Many gun owners I know are stocking up on ammo & buying more guns that they will hide. This is a sad story indeed. I can not imagine how the family is dealing with their loss.

Even more sadly, over 10 of my dearest friends are police officers. How will they treat me when they will have to consider me an enemy?

Taxes and fees on ammunition are equal to the stamp tax.

"How will they treat me when they will have to consider me an enemy?"

An enemy? Very harshly. Count on it. I find myself in similar circumstances. I've thought it over and agonized over it. I've seen it happen in countless places around the world. When the order is given, they will come for you without hesitation, because you're not one of "them".

I want to believe your police officer friends will treat you the same, just look the other way. I will pray many police officers look the other way for many of us....

The suspect was wounded when Pawlowski’s partner and another officer returned fire. He is in critical condition. Police recovered the murder weapon and found what they believe is crack-cocaine in the suspect’s pocket, according to Ramsey.

WHY is he in critical condition? WHY isn't he dead? WHY are we taxpayers being forced to shell out money to keep this piece of garbage alive? He did this in broad daylight with multiple witnesses. He is not "a suspect"; he is THE MURDERER. We just can't afford to keep pouring money down the drain like this. The only possible outcome of "saving" this piece of garbage is that the taxpayers will be forced to pay his hotel and medical bills for a couple of years before he's paroled, and then he'll go out and commit another crime. This piece of garbage has a long history of arrests and convictions, and should have been permanently caged or executed a long time ago.

Imagine government instructing their minions to turn in their friends, relatives, neighbors, and ultimately themselves.

It will certainly be interesting. I imagine they will do this before the next elections and after they institute the fairness doctrine. I wonder how the Aussies were kept down when they had to turn in their guns.

No, I don’t think so. Not all of us anyway. I went to a gun show today with several of my co-workers. We discussed this very topic.

I will not have any part in disarming anybody. The other 4 with me said they will not either. I will not participate and I will not turn in my firearms.

There are alot of policemen who feel the same way.

I’m pretty sure the mayor will use this as another example, at least in his mind, why we need to get guns off the streets (translation: disarm all citizens)
