Don't blame me, I voted for Ron Paul Part II
The New Jersey Star-Ledger ^ | February 14, 2009 | Paul Mulshine

Posted on 02/17/2009 3:07:30 AM PST by King of Card Games

How quickly they forget.

All these dupes of the national Republican Party, I mean.

Just a few months ago John McCain was promising a plan that would have created a budget deficit equal to or greater than the one now being created by Barack Obama.

But now that it's Obama who's in the White House, the Beltway Republicans are trying to convince us that they've seen the light and converted to fiscal conservatism.

There was NO economic growth! None!

So, they 52 straight months of job growth put no money in people's pockets?

I love that "solid economic growth " stuff" that Hannity-bots repeat and actually believe. These poor clueless followers are in many ways like Obama (Chavis like )followers who believe Obama+Powerful Government+socialism=happinessness. They all just believe talking points that cant be defended.

I wondered how long before you would show up.

In the meantime, the confusion over what constitutes conservatism is a consequence of conservatives, primarily within the Republican Party, stupidly allowing themselves to be dragged leftward, inch by inch, over the years and the decades.

Of course, you preferred putting the Dems in charge and letting Marxism happen overnight.

This nation is heading for revolution... paul will hit the hills and hide. Bush took over with America far in debt... he added to it no doubt... today that POS black liberation theologist muzzie/marxist will triple the National Debt in one day. Your argument pales when compared to reality... something you paulbots have no experience with.

With the Republicans drifting to the left, all you were doing is buying yourself some time. And, unfortunately, in 2008, you really weren't buying much time, since McCain and Obama agree on so many issues in the "nation-killer" category.

Overnight, you say? The difference between the Republicans and the Democrats is that one will embrace more Government at 7 am, bright and early, while the other starts cuddling with Government at 7:03 am and then jumps into its arms at around 7:06 am.

RE :” So, they 52 straight months of job growth put no money in people's pockets?

That “ money in peoples pockets ” you talk about was public and private foreign debt and the credit lines have dried up so that money in our pockets that went into 401ks and our houses is gone, never existed. Other money oin our pockets used for consumption of foreign products is gone too. All that is left is a huge debt hangover.

There was only one industry driving the whole train, housing which depended on endless immigration, to buy the houses, and illegals to build the houses, and endless ever increasing sized foreign loans funding it all to keep it from crashing. It's called Ponzi not economic growth.

Your GWB “money in peoples pockets” from massive debt sounds exactly like democrats now.

The Republican Party had time. Lots of time. The Party controlled the Federal Government for six years...and what happened? An orgy of Government spending.

Enjoy your four (or eight...or more!) years in detox. It's time out for bad behavior. And, hopefully, you and folks like you will return to your senses in that time and actually strive to do more than emulate the Democrats.

Pure, unadulterated BS.

I have to agree with that.

President Bush and the Republican controlled congress did not put us in the position we are in today.

RE :”something you paulbots have no experience with.

I am not a Paul supporter, never was, but compared to Bush he looks brilliant. I just despise your hero GWB for giving us Obama/Pelosi/Marxism. It was not possible without him. Even congressional republicans are finally united repudiating the GWB doctrine of “bankruptcy now, Socialism later”

Our national debt, until the Dems took over in 2006, never exceeded 60% of GDP, except for WWII when it hit 150%

In fact, the huge deficits and large increase in debt left by Ronald Reagan were paid for BY GROWTH by 2000.

Capitalism has always had booms and busts. What is different this time will be that “conservatives” handed the recovery to a bunch of communists.

An orgy of Government spending.

More BS. Porkulus would pay for the President's prescription drug plan for 25 years.

Porkulus is more than all the earmarks Republicans had in six years.

You are a fool.

I'm not so sure that what the DemoncRATs are doing is a "recovery" even if that is what they have in mind.

I'm not so sure that having the DemoncRATs in power right now is a, completely, bad thing.
They will take the fall for a "depression" and the other parties can then bring us out of that "depression".

I don't think that will happen. No matter what happens, the media will make sure the Dems do not get the blame. If for some reason the economy recovers in a reasonable amount of time, the Democrats will be institutionalized in power just as FDR's Democrats were.

You are out of your mind, or existing in another parallel universe. If Gore and the Democrats had won in 2000, we would have had the equivalent of Porkulus then to get us out of the recession.

GWB SAVED US FROM PELOSI/REID FOR SIX YEARS.

“Paul wanted to surrender to al Qaeda”

Al Qaeda. I seem to remember them and Bin Laden. Aren’t they the folks we supported with some of the latest weapons technology, to help them defeat and bankrupt the Russians in Afghanistan?

Wait a minute. They called themselves something else then. Let’s see, what was it? Mujahedeen?

And that fellow Saddam Hussein. IIRC, his rise to power came in a coup supported by the US.

In some circles this would be called meddling in the affairs of other countries. Course, all this meddling in the name of fighting the communists in Iraq and Afghanistan could have been justified then. Although, it’s still meddling...aka interventionalism.

In the case of surrendering to al qaeda, now that would be novel. Where a nation surrenders to an elusive entity it supported while meddling in past foreign affairs.

Maybe Ron Paul believes we are on the wrong track hunting OBL and al qaeda in Iraq after all these years with trillions spent. Maybe Ron Paul believes we should have been hunting down and killing OBL and his band of misfits. Maybe Ron Paul believes we fell into OBL’s trap he set for us in Iraq.

Like the Russians were eventually, we are now on the verge of bankruptcy. Trillions spent chasing OBL and al qaeda in Iraq. And now, leaving these folks (the sunnis, shia, kurds, shiites, whatevers, etc) in Iraq to sort out their own affairs, would be in essence, a surrender to OBL and al qaeda.

Maybe Ron Paul, right or wrong, is not convinced this is necessarily the case. Maybe Ron Paul believes, especially as we endure our current economic crisis with multi trillion debt, which btw, Ron Paul predicted, America should have come first.

OMG, what a freakin nightmare. America coming first.
