My husband called me to tell me (he’s driving and listening to GB) that the big news turns out to be that he has already scored their first interview, but it won’t be until after Mar 20, seemingly because as the article states, they are still technically in federal custody until then.
I’m so glad they’re out. Bet their families are a little happy about it too!
Bush should have pardoned them, hell he should have never prosecuted them.
Not nearly as vile as TARP, which Mr. Bush supported.

If you want to know who, as you put it, "set the table" for Obama's rise, first look to those who backed and financed his preternaturally metoric rise up the political ladder. Then look to our seditious media who sold this narcissistic empty-suited Marixst as some kind of political wunderkind coming to save humanity. Then look to the congress critters on both sides of the isle who betrayed us multiple times, some for self-enrichment and some for political gain.
While your at it, be sure to look to the Right wing punditocracy, which decided after the 2004 election that they needed to broaden their own audiences. So they chose to do so by attacking Republicans at every turn. They whipped people like you into an anti-Republican frenzy, and helped to push us all over a cliff from which there may never be any return.
Last, but certainly not least, look to all those so-called real conservatives who so easily find "RINOs" under every pebble on the political beach, but who don't know how to play the game of politics effectively to save their lives. The term RINO is thrown about so often, against so many people, that it's lost all practical meaning.
I am inclined to think that was the biggest mistake of his presidency. However, I am adult enough to be able to acknowledge a person's honest mistakes without ripping the that individual to shreds.
A PARDON does clear one's name....and restores all rights.
I bet they do not look forward to more meat-grinding in a court of law...especially with federal courts during the Obama administration.
BTW, Cheney lobbied Bush for a Pardon for Scooter.

Legally, yes. There is still a stigma, right or wrong.
They requested the communtation to fight in the 5th Circuit (appellate court) and clear name legally and practically.
That’s great news!!!!! Congratulations to them and their families for persevering. This proves the people do make a difference if they are persistent.

I'm so glad that they are out (or soon will be) but I really hate the whole stinkin' thing to begin with.
