I love President Bush but...he tried to push the immigration down our throats even after all the public did and theyare to be commended because they rose magnificently to this issue. You LISTEN to the people. You dont’ LISTEN then push them aside.

It just illustrates - you can’t believe what you read on the internet.

He owed 50 million in taxes?? I wonder how much he gave to the Clinton library? One or two million? And he got to live away from his wife for years. That was a good deal for him.

Bad deal for the rest of us tax payers. What else is new.

The correct outcome would have been a full pardon, reinstatement to their positions as Border Patrol Agents, full back pay and benefits for the amount of time these men were persecuted, and full reimbursement of any/all legal costs they were forced to incur as a result of this ridiculous situation.

Bush not only aided and abetted this violent invasion of America, he publicly encouraged it.

Hmmmm...as I look out my window on this fine, sunny day in Los Angeles, what I see are happy children at the nearby middle school, people out walking their dogs and otherwise going about their business in peace. The school bell just rang. The air is crisp and clean and fresh after a period of heavy rains. Despite your dark, drama-queen view of the world, there are no violent invaders and no armies in the streets clashing with them.

Is illegal entry into our country a problem? Of course. Do some illegal aliens commit violent crimes? Absolutely. Some areas of Los Angeles have known violent white gangs, violent black gangs, violent Latino gangs, and violent Asian gangs since at least the 1940's, but the area as grown and thrived nevertheless.

The important thing is that gang crimes are only one aspect of the incredible variety and scope that is life in Los Angeles.

Our Marxist Democrat-controlled legislature and stupid Dem-lite governor are far more of a threat to me than your "violent invasion."

As for the last eight years, no, I was not asleep. I had a good job and enjoyed the fruits of my labors. With President Bush guarding this nation, Los Angeles was spared a terrorist attack. For a period of time after 9/11/01, a U.S. Navy warship was on station off of Redondo Beach. At least one terrorist cell was broken up and arrested about four miles from my home. Life was good. Life was peaceful.

Get back to me four or eight years from now, after we get to evaluate the effects of the Obama administration. Then we'll talk about President Bush's legacy.

You stated:

(Bush) ALWAYS acted in what he believe to be the best interests of this nation.

You are wrong!

Bush aided and abetted, and publicly encouraged a violent illegal invasion of this country. It's no secret.

That's the facts. Deal with it.

Absolutely ridiculous -- 4-year-old tantrum ridiculous. I learned long ago that there's no reasoning with people like you. Hystrionic drama queens have no ability to step back from their own childish behaviors. However, if you do decide to grow up, let's start by challenging you to name the president who said the following:

The legalization provisions...will go far to improve the lives of a class of individuals who now must hide in the shadows, without access to many of the benefits of a free and open society. Very soon many of these men and women will be able to step into the sunlight and, ultimately, if they choose, they may become Americans.

Distance has not discouraged illegal immigration to the United States from all around the globe. The problem of illegal immigration should not, therefore, be seen as a problem between the United States and its neighbors. Our objective is only to establish a reasonable, fair, orderly, and secure system of immigration into this country and not to discriminate in any way against particular nations or people.

As Bush went into his first term, as he started to blatantly pandering to Mexico, and publicly encouraged this illegal invasion, I learned quickly I could not believe a single word the man said, as he spent this country into a financial abyss...

By 2006 most of the country had a belly full of his BS, as we watched the entire Republican party go down in flames in the Senate and Congress...

It became so chaotic, by the end of Bush's last term, it was discovered when they quietly revealed that even his Chief of Homeland Security had people wandering around the *inside* of his private residence, that had entered this country illegally...

Can you imagine the potential for blackmail, espionage and compromising this security of country, during war time yet? During the time when millions that had entered this country illegaly, decided to march throght the streets of our cities, makding demands and threat while pushing foriegn flags in our faces....

And what did Bush's spokesperson say?

He suggested or implied that millions entering this country illegally, (during war time yet) equated to, or was not much different that a simple traffic violation...

This came right from the Federal Government...One of the few things they are actually supposed to do, is secure and protect our borders.

And you respond with:

Absolutely ridiculous -- 4-year-old tantrum ridiculous.

This is the apex of arrogance.

God help us!

In my post #146, I issued the following challenge to you.

However, if you do decide to grow up, let's start by challenging you to name the president who said the following...

This was a challenge to your maturity, reasoning ability, and historical knowledge. It was also a challenge to your ability to be balanced and fair, because the remarks sound like they were from President George W. Bush. Surprise! They were not.

You didn't answer directly, but did respond...

As Bush went into his first term, as he started to blatantly pandering to Mexico, and publicly encouraged this illegal invasion, I learned quickly I could not believe a single word the man said...

The paragraphs I quoted when asking if you could name the president who spoke them, are taken verbatim from President Ronald Reagan's Nov. 6, 1986 remarks on the occasion of his signing of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Here is a link to the full transcript of his speech that day.

Speaking of, as you put it, the "apex of arrogance," it seems to me beyond arrogant to insist that you know what the hell you're talking about when, in fact, you are blazingly ignorant of key facts -- as I have just demonstrated.

Thanks. I never read about any of them, like we did when Clinton pardoned folks, but then they were CROOKS and terrorists.

He could have done more to see that the borders were closed. I know that.

yes he could have and I guess his loyalty to Mexico overrode his loyalty to hiw own citizens of the USA. Meanwhile...the illegal crossings continue and people are being murdered. Shame on President Bush on this issue. It’s one that would cause me to not vote for him again if he were running. Our people and our safety should come first along the borders as well as from the terrorists.
