Of course they do.

You never know when one of those evil guns might suffer from spontaneous jihad syndrome and start beheading people.

It happens all the time...

Then it’s very understandable why obama doesn’t want to change a thing, even if he could.

Handlers the same, darker President.

The primary phase will be done Saturday, April 4...

April 4 is the 41st anniversary of MLK's assassination.

Soldiers will knock only at households that have agreed to participate in the drill, Kots noted.

For now.

One knowledgeable source claims that 8 million Americans are now listed in Main Core as potentially suspect.

Including EVERYONE here at Free Republic, no doubt.

Conditioning them for the future. Where are the “the Military will never do it” people?

Everyone in town needs to check to see if their mailbox has a red or a blue reflector.

Fron the link you provided:

"Expansion of the President's power to declare martial law under revisions to the Insurrection Act, and take charge of United States National Guard troops without state governor authorization when public order has been lost and the state and its constituted authorities cannot enforce the law (repealed as of 2008)"

That's been repealed. Second even IF it wasn't repealed the state government would have to be incapacitated before it could be enacted hence the "state and its constituted authorities cannot enforce the law" part.

Because you have small agencies who do not have SWAT.

Second, this unit could very well be getting ready for a deployment to Afghanistan or even Iraq where a scenario like this could very well happen. And as I stated before most national guard units cannot afford going to a purpose built training area such as JRTC unless they get called up for federal service.

Third, as we've seen after Katrina the National Guard was used to bolster state and local law enforcement, so this scenario could very well happen while local and state law enforcement is overstretched trying to deal with other situations.

Fourth, contrary to what the tinfoil hat brigade says those who do not wish to be part of this TRAINING EXERCISE are not going to be placed on some “secret list” to be further investigated. These loons who think that there is going to be a secret list made are the same sort as those who think that 9/11 was an inside job. That the WTC was hit with secret Airforce remote controlled aircraft and were later brought down by a controlled demolition. That a missile hit the pentagon, and that all the people who were killed were abducted by aliens.

Name an instance where National Guard was called to support S.W.A.T efforts.

FL National Guard has an anti-drug task force that regularly supports law enforcement.

Another instance was after Katrina hit, and the LA National Guard sent it's SRT in to secure the New Orleans Convention Center.

So you can’t do it can you? No known instances of the NG being brought in to support local LEOs who need SWAT but dont have it.

Response to natural disaster is totally appropriate.

I am not aware of NG in FL going on raids and making arrests.

This isn’t tin foil conspiracy thinking.

It would be tin foil thinking if we had a foreign born head of state who was legally elected who was nationalizing the economy and industry, planning to disarm citizens, making enemies of our allies and allies of our enemies, and had talked about an internal security force better funded than the military...but that could never happen could it?

I live near Fort Indiantown Gap, in PA. I know for a fact that they have more then enough buildings/space to be able to hold a training like this there. I’m not one to buy in to a bunch of hype over “Fema Coffins”, and the martial law theories to take place in 2012, but this just doesn’t sound right. Something like this could endanger the people of the town. Just doesn’t sit well...

Did you read the damn link?

Apparently not from the looks of it.

Go back to Lew Rockwell or Alex Jones.

From post #91:

“Name an instance where National Guard was called to support S.W.A.T efforts.”

The key word in your question was “SUPPORT”.

I stated a known fact that FLNG has a counter drug task force that SUPPORTS local law enforcement.

FLNG Counterdrug Program mission statement:

“The mission of the Florida National Guard Counterdrug Program is to provide comprehensive, professional, and responsive military support to drug Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to assist them in reducing the availability of and demand for illegal drugs within the state and nation. The principle elements of support are highly skilled personnel, specialized technology, facilities, and diverse types of military training.”

I provide a link showing where the National Guard provided a SWAT team to not only support but also openly conduct law enforcement operations after Hurricane Katrina.

The Arizona Army National Guard is also part of a Joint Counter Narcotics Task Force.

No I didn’t follow the link, was having keyboard problems that made it almost not even worth getting online.

And based on the NG website, there is nothing on there about fighting crime outside states of emergencies.

So just because they do it now from time to time doesn’t make it right.

Again, the original issue (can you focus?) was about the scenario of the NG going after an arms dealer and I still don’t think you can justify that.

Your insistence that it is ok just makes you look more like a useful tool than my questioning it makes me look like a tin foiler and I don’t care if this was done under Bush, Clinton, Carter, or Reagan.
