a move opponents say puts conservative ideology ahead of the needs of constituents struggling with foreclosures and unemployment.

Is that there way of suggesting that Liberalism is the only thing that would fulfill the needs of the constituents?

Solution, refuse the money and withhold taxes to the feds.
Simple

No No, its actually what they fear, Sarah Palin 2012, she would beat Obama easily, it wouldn’t even be a contest, it would be a landslide, that is what they fear. I wonder how Obama would react to Sarah saying “You can take your money and shove it”

Sorry, Allegra:
Gov. Rick Perry formally accepted the state’s $17 billion share of the federal stimulus package Wednesday while pointedly voicing his opposition to the concept.

I’ve heard that her office has received many phone calls from Alaskans telling her to reject all of the money. I wonder if she will reject ALL of it, or just accept the infrastructure money. I mean geez how badly does Alaska need this infrastructure money, during her interview with Greta, she sure didn’t sound desperate for the money. I hope this sets a precedent, that most of our nations Governors reject the money that way Obama will get the message that they CANNOT be bought

It isn’t like they are actually going to reject it. Most said they considered it but will take it.

Kinda like the idiot California state senator who said, after voting for the budget raising taxes on working citizens, that he was looking forward to working for conservative issues, like lowering taxes, now that the budget was passed.

I think they should accept the money. While the package is un-american and will never work, it can still provide benefits like roads and bridges to the state. Refusing the money, and then being taxed to pay for it all, is simply stupid. Now if you could refuse the money and be exempt from the taxes required to pay it back, that would be different.

Not taking the money is the equivalent of unilateral disarmament. The feds won’t spend less money; your people just won’t see any return on the debts that have been imposed on them.

Or maybe they should take the money, so long as it has no strings attached, and show the feds what might really work-—helping those who actually will help the economy, not suck it dry, if they could only become a bit more financially liquid.

This decision is as weighty as the decision McCain made when voting for the original bailout (TARP). Unlike McCain, I pray that Sarah makes the right decision for her state and for America.
