HHS Leader Sebelius Brings A Radical Abortion Record
Published: Friday, February 20, 2009 Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is being reported as the front-runner as President Barack Obamas appointment for Health And Human Services Secretary.
Although Ms. Sebelius was touted by The New York Times as a bipartisan politician, she comes with a strong pro-abortion record.
Not only has Ms. Sebelius governor in a battleground state on the abortion issue repeatedly vetoed any measures that would limit or regulate abortion that came across her desk, she also has ties to an abortionist with a history of performing risky abortions in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Ms. Sebelius has reportedly received large campaign contributions from abortionist George Tiller, who was the subject of investigation after a 19-year-old woman died during an abortion at his clinic in 2005. The patient had been 28 weeks pregnant. Mr. Tiller currently faces 19 criminal charges, a grand jury investigation, and two open investigations with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts for criminal conduct and violations of the standard of care.
In April 2007, Mr. Tiller and his entire abortion clinic staff were honored by Ms. Sebelius at a party held at the governors mansion. When news of the party broke, the governors office defended the party, saying that the abortion clinic staff were honored via a charity auction and had no control over who might attend. Sources who attended the party described it as by special invitation only.
Ms. Sebeliuswholesale endorsement of abortion sparked a battle with Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann of Kansas City in Kansas, who condemned her example of a Catholic leader in May 2008. Archbishop Naumann publicly instructed Ms. Sebelius from receiving the Eucharist, until she publicly condemns her own actions on abortion and makes efforts to amend her life.
In 2006, Ms. Sebelius vetoed Senate Bill 528, which would have required documentation justifying the performance of late-term abortions.
"My Catholic faith teaches me that life is sacred, admitted Ms. Sebelius when she vetoed the pro-life bill. Personally, I believe abortion is wrong."
In 2003, Ms. Sebelius also vetoed HB 2176, the Abortion Clinic Licensing bill, which would have required abortionists to follow minimum safety and health-standards at their clinics.

Another ‘Limousine Catholic’ ala Pelosi, Eh? Terrific.
It’s hard to get more pro-abortion that Obama who voted to literally kill babies even if they were able to be born alive during abortions.....
But Sebelius certain has the credentials to challenge him as our nations biggest promoter of abortions. But I’m quite sure that both Sebelius and Obama would be outraged to find out that George Tiller had performed an abortion on their twelve years old daughter without their notification and approval.
BHO is completely committed to the cause of abortion. And as for the rest of the hammer and sickle stuff, I kid you not, he loves that stuff also!
In the spirit of ol George Burns . . .
“Take our Governor, Kathleen Sebelius, . . .PLEASE!!!!!
Henny Youngman, but the point is still valid...
Countdown to the discovery of tax nonpayment and/or domestic employee problems ... 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ...
Choosing appointees based on their commitment to killing babies seems likely to produce a significant proportion of law-breaking creeps. Maybe Zero should try a different “litmus test.”
Kansas has an extremely complex 3 party system involving RINOs, Dems, and Conservative Republicans. We’ve had it a lot longer than people have noticed nationally.
The last gov was a RINO, a conservative was nominated, and in a fit, the RINO vote went to Sebelius. Voila, dem gov.
We have tried to fight back, but it is difficult. I can remember back when you were considered a “nut” if you even made the claim that ANYONE would agree to do a late term abortion in Kansas. The media has never really been honest on the subject. Tiller was under the radar screen for years, protected by the media and by the courts and by dirty politicians.
At one time, Tiller would be seen, regularly, at Republican Party fundraisers. Kicking Tiller out of the GOP was not possible, legally. But, making him feel unwelcome was a war in itself. We got rid if Tiller's clout, in the GOP, by tying GOP candidates to Tiller, and beating them in the primary races. Over time, it worked, but it was rough.
No matter your view, on abortion, what would you think of ANY politician who was in the back pocket of any industry, or any one person?
What if a person in the casino industry called the shots in your state, on casino issues?
More to the point, in an age when health care providers are constantly on the defensive, why is it that abortion providers are treated like saints, by the media and by liberals in general?
It is absurd. Your doctor is treated like dirt by the media, unless your doctor is an abortion provider!
Anyway, please support Sam Brownback, in his bid for Governor, and please support Todd Tiahrt, in his bid to take Brownback’s Senate seat.
Sebelius is telegraphing something here. Our Gov. is telling me, by her decision, that she sees Kansas going conservative Republican next year. I do not support her in any way, but she will be one of the smartest people on Obama’s staff, if she goes there. She does not want to lose an election. This is very good news for Kansas.
She might also see the pro-abortion political money drying up, if Tiller is truly in trouble. (I am dreaming now, but let me dream.)
I stand corrected . . . thanks Buck!
No problem! Both very funny guys.
Now, in the future, such a mistake might get you ten in Leavenworth, ‘leven in Twelveworth, or Five and Ten in Woolworth!
Never heard that one! ;-)
Amazing << Hear this. Feel this, and tell me that this isn't music.
Hey Barack HUSSEIN Obama, I went to Harvard too! That was the worst fieldtrip of my life, but I went there...
It’s the genius of the legendary Groucho Marx!
So there is a wicked witch in Ks. after all... She can enter in to the ZerO’s dark netherworld where she belongs.
Good riddance for Ks.
Her family name....
And she did a good job of looking like a moderate. People also loved her fight against Anthem taking over Blue Cross as insurance commissioner since they were going to screw KS.
I cheered her on for that myself. But, no way would I vote for her......but many did.
