How Obama handles 'priorities'
Pittsburgh live ^ | 2/22/09 | Tony Blankley

In the Middle Ages, when a young prince suddenly became king, the royal court, the church leadership and other senior aristocrats would scrutinize his every word and habit for signs of what kind of mind would be deciding their country's fate and their personal prosperity and safety. Today, around the world, President Barack Obama's every word, every action, every inaction is being likewise scrutinized for similar reasons.

Since the election, we have begun to get hints of his management style in four items Mr. Obama himself has described as of the highest priority to him: Cabinet selection, closing Gitmo, the stimulus package and bipartisanship.

His management style is based on Saul Alinsky and the book “Rules for Radicals”.

I wish somebody at a news conference would ask him about his devotion to Alinsky principles.

I wish somebody in the MSM would ask him the tough questions at news conferences, about Porkulus, about the chance of Porkulus the sequel later this year, about how exactly he plans to pay down the deficit, about how he intends to have the gov’t micro-manage the economy, which taxpayers are going to end up paying for it all, etc. etc.

If he’s so devoted to his liberalism/socialism he should tell us all about it. Heck he should have told us all about it during the campaign, rather than the hope/change mantra.

From the report one thing for sure, it confirms that he is an empty suit without a clue.

he is an empty suit without a clue.

I agree that he's in over his head, but I don't think he's clueless on his intentions. This came from a member of his transition team(emphasis is mine):

Jarret told Brokaw that "given the daunting challenges that we face, it's important that president elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one."

This is exactly what he has tried to do. His apparent ineptitude with the economy is only superficial. I believe he's deliberately trying to destroy the free market system in order to establish a socialist replacement.

I can think of four possible explanations for this almost unprecedented presidential detachment:

He is a very, very big-picture man, and he delegates decisions even on the central points of vital issues; he decided these matters were not worth using up political chits; he is either hesitant or unskilled at management, and he let matters drift until it seemed too late to intervene personally; or his personality type leaves him surprisingly uninterested in things that aren't personally about him.

I think you are correct... what we are hearing is in the SOTU is only going to make the economy worse.

Obama doesn’t have priorities. He just follows what his handlers tell him too.

This is such a lie. If it were true, the DBM would have been all over O's having said he was glad to be in IOWA when he was in Ottawa, and then called Canada's leader the President, when he is the Premier. They have been scrubbed from the transcript and will never be mentioned by the DBM. For GWB, those two flubs would have been proof that he was stupid.
