WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama wants a significant "down payment" for overhauling the health care system: $634 billion over 10 years. A senior administration official says Obama's budget calls for financing the overhaul by trimming Medicare spending and limiting tax deductions for upper-income earners. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the budget won't be released until Thursday. About 48 million Americans are uninsured, according to recent estimates. The cost of guaranteeing coverage for all could easily exceed $1 trillion over 10 years. Obama has asked Congress for health reform this year, but senior members of both political parties say they are concerned about the cost.

These morons haven’t a clue. They think that there’s an excess of money out there (on someone’s money tree I guess) that should be tapped to give every person in this country (and most all the world) everything they want.
Didn’t they just reduce the # of uninsured children by MILLIONS by putting in that new plan by which families earning $80,000 or less can get free health insurance or free health care for children? So wouldn’t the 48 million number now be too high?
PS - The State and Local Govt’s are in even worse shape.
Solution. Either tax the economy to death or monetize the Debt. Either way we're screwed.

If upper-income people are taxed at 35%, the 65% they get to keep is a regressive tax break that helps only the rich. /s
