Obama to Seek New Assault Weapons Ban
ABC News ^ | 02-25-2009 | Jason Ryan

As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.

I think closing the gun show loophole, the banning of cop-killer bullets and I also think that making the assault weapons ban permanent, would be something that would be permitted under Heller," Holder said, referring to the Supreme Court ruling in Washington, D.C. v. Heller, which asserted the Second Amendment as an individual's right to own a weapon.

So in your world "restricted to Law Enforcement sales" is equivalent to "widely available", and justifies you calling another FReeper an idiot.

He was calling Holder an Idiot. The Ranger SXT line of ammo(Essentially the talon without the black teflon) is limited by Winchester to LE and most resellers honor this. As far as I know, it's not illegal for anyone to possess it and it's available if you look around. Gunbroker has it. I've seen it in shops.

It's also not illegal to buy or own Black Talons. The problem with Black Talon was the name. It makes a great "prop". Next time call it "SHielding Internal Teflon" rounds(protects the riflings). That will stop any politician from referring to "SHIT rounds.

No, he is talking about the Kennedy Amendment that would have banned ANY cartridge that would penetrate SOFT body armor. This includes practically ALL rifle cartridges.

Why not? The zero is borrowing money from your children to rearm terrorists in Gaza.

Cop killer bullets? Is he talking about hollowpoints?

In Chicago some anti-gun alderman define "cop killing bullets" as anything which can penetrate a vest, 1000 fps at the muzzle being the general test, and would would have no problem banning what would be most rifle ammunition.

Bet on the new standard being along the lines of the Kennedy performance ban. For decades, that fat bloated sot has been trying to get ammo outlawed by the criteria of whether or not it'd penetrate class 2a soft body-armor.

That's any rifle caliber hotter than a .22lr. That's why there was such a stink about the 5.7N. The ammo is hot enough to exceed the ratings on 2A armor. Then again, my .357 and my 10mm (with Norma spec hotloads) both meet that criteria as well.

Bad mojo either way. This is serious "line in the sand" territory.

Quite a few pistol calibers as well. Pretty much anything “magnum” would instantly loose it’s ammo supply.

Rule 308

I prefer the classic "Rule 303", myself.

Described here for those unfamiliar with it.

"Some recent Mexican army and police confrontations with drug cartels have resembled small-unit combat, with cartels employing automatic weapons and grenades," the warning said

I am perfectly willing to accept a ban on automatic weapons and grenades.

I agree that we should all be prepared by owning a gun for home protection and to protect our rights as a free country. I have several and many rounds of ammunitions.

My only fear is the system will fail because of the mentality many have that I want you to do it and not me. I’m afraid it will be another of the scenes just such as the Obama Birth Certificate where the We The People let the SCOTUS slide when the Supreme Court was to afraid to face the angry crowds of the masses that voted for the Usurper President. We have become our own worst enemy I’m afraid. It used to be God Bless America, now it’s God Save America

Really, what statistics can they draw on that

“third party voters and conservatives who stayed home”

had any effect on whether FUBO got elected or not?

He got elected on a cult of personality and a massive get out the (fraudulent) vote effort.

First they’ll ban assault weapons, then all guns, then knives and finally harsh language...........
