Chris Matthews: GOP 'Outsourced' Response to Indian-American Governor
Newsbusters.org ^ | February 25, 2009 | Mike Sargent

“Oh, God,” why did he have to use that word? According to MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, the GOP “outsourced” the Republican response to a young, successful Indian-American governor who “had nothing to do with Congress.”

They had to outsource the response tonight, the Republican party. They had to outsource to someone who had nothing to do with Congress because the Republicans in Congress had nothing to do with the programs he was talking about tonight or the record he referred to.

First of all, one might point out that Piyush “Bobby” Jindal was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2004 to 2006. Furthermore, Republican governors are quite important members of the party. The idea that the GOP was bringing in an outsider is flat out wrong.

“Some Indian-American group needs to go on national TV”

This is up to the Republican leadership. Or Bobby Jindal himself, all he needs to say is that he is an American and never felt the need to be an Indian-American.

I will have to do some reasearch but I am almost CERTAIN that the democrats had democrat governors issue their “response” to George Bush’s speeches and possibly at least once to a state of the Union address.

A Democrat "Rising Star" by the name of Michael Dukakis did their response to a Reagan SOTU address.

Dem reps and senators came on in a sort of interview style with Dukakis asking them their opinions and the diminutive dunce offering his.

Nearly every one of them started off with, "Well, Mike, I'm glad you asked that question. Let me just say that (fill in the lib talking point) is not good for the country and is the wrong direction we need to be taing."

They should...it’s just that his ethnic group is too busy trying to succeed in America to whine and bitch about racial slights. Can you imagine Asians producing an Al Sharpton?

Personally, I wish they’d asked Gov Palin to speak. Maybe next time, in time for the surge before the Mid Term Elections.

One thing that lovely woman can do is rally the troops. And I just enjoy hearing her accent and the way she phrases things.

Palin for President 2012!

I think we listen to him because, when we see him on the TV screen we are mesmerized, nay, practically HYPNOTISED, by his abnormally large head.

Funny you say that. I think Zardoz when I see him.

Typical lib. The crudest racists I’ve ever met have been liberal Democrats. They are prone to use racial crudities in private conversations all the time. Apparently, they think that voting Dem entitiles them to a special dispensation to use slurs.

Give Chrissy boy enough rope and he'll hang himself. How is acceptable when George Allen was demonized for his Macaca comment.

I believe Kane did one. But I wish the practice would stop. The responder always looks bad in comparison to the prez, simply because of the contrast in atmosphere.

Anyone recall what happened, particularly the MSM reaction, when former Senator George Allen (R-VA) made a certain "Macaca" remark?

Sure do. Allen’s career went right in the crapper. Just like Trent Lott.

Just like Hillary.

The overwhelming majority of the time this sort of blatant racism comes out of the mouths of DemocRats. Democrats claim to be the champions of the minority, yet they constantly group people by such identities, "African Americans", "Indian Americans", "Religious Right", "Feminists", "Gays and Lesbians", etc.

DemocRats don't see individuals for who they are, they see groups of people based on their sexual orientation, the color of their skin, their ancestral heritage, etc. Sickening.

Matthews is so very comfortable in his cushy little job, that he actually has no idea what a pea-brain, mental midget bigot he exposes himself to be.

The democrats outsourced the presidency to a young unsucessful African-American senator who had done nothing in Congress and has no respect for the constitution.

How does that strike you Chrissy?

The GOP was incredibly stupid to put him in that position and he was stupid to take it. Obama is still in the honeymoon period and anyone who had replied would have fallen flat. They should have stuck McConnell up there. Jindal should have been saved for 2010 or 2012. He’ll be fine though. Just the wrong time.
