Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's office says he will declare a state of emergency after three years of below-average rain and snowfall in California.

The drought has forced farmers to fallow their fields, put thousands of agricultural workers out of work and prompted conservation measures in cities throughout the state.

...

Federal water managers plan to temporarily cut off water this March to thousands of California farms. The state has said it probably would deliver just 15 percent of the water contractors have requested this year.

How much water do all the illegals in California use?

THAT is the emergency.

I actually think this is due to global cooling.

The oceans have cooled and that makes for less humidity and less rain.

It would help if they didn’t insist on buildiing super-cities like LA and Las Vegas in desert areas.

Why not, get more Federal money you incompetent POS. I am getting tired of the greenies and idiots passing environmental laws that limit CA from managing their water and other natural resources to stay solvent. Why do we have to pay for their lunacy?

His declaring a drought emergency just continues to show what an idiot he is. Here in NorCal, we finished the storm last week at 94% of normal precip. We have another storm coming in Saturday evening, and still a good month to go before the rainy season is over. This declaration of emergency is just one more in a long line of controls placed on our people by our power-mad bureaucrats.

The secondary financial markets are in trouble enough already. Do you think these farmers can obtain crop insurance? Me neither.

could be,, less vapor is less clouds to condense moisture out of ..

if the earth’s electrical motor is not as excited by radiation like sunspots, now in a doldrum activity-wise, and thus produces less heat to keep the mantle and crust nice and toasty even under the oceans, who knows for sure that volcanic activity magma might also follow lines of flux that even now may be helping to melt away antarctica,, all perfectly natural as a process.

ya never know.

I’m waiting for those that are against water saving devices “because the planet can never run out of water” to show up.

It isn’t about the “planet” running out of water, it is about water regionally, and treated water management.

I thought so too,, but.. He needs the camera time..

We have gone thru stages of warn warn warn ,, now it’s official.. hopefully the rains of late will continue for weeks ,, we have more coming next week supposedly

We have 10% and likely to go to 20% “rationing” starting here soon..

They will penalize usage over a certain number by doubling the price at first,, just one more way to stick it to the little guy..

Cut off all water, jobs, benefits, schooling, medical care, prison cells, credit, bank loans and housing to illegal aliens...

The transformaton of Kalifornicate would be astounding....

Outsources all jailed illegal aliens to a low cost “off shore” prison island would save BILLIONS per year...
______________________________

As Investors Business Daily reported in March 2005:

“The U.S. Justice Department estimated that 270,000 illegal immigrants served jail time nationally in 2003. Of those, 108,000 were in California. Some estimates show illegals now make up half of California’s prison population, creating a massive criminal subculture that strains state budgets and creates a nightmare for local police forces.”
____________________________________________________

The figure is probably closer to 120,000 illegals in CA prisons today - at an average cost of $25,000 each = $3 BILLION.

My gosh, Ahh-nie, just because you are in Colliephoneya does not mean your life has to be lived one dramatic action-packed scene to the next. What will it be next crisis facing your state? Psycho robots? Dystopian game shows? Space bugs? . . .

Really, Ahh-node, that parched, barren landscape thing was Mel's franchise—you weren't in the Mad Max films—any of them—and you were not in Dune, and you were not in Lawrence of Arabia either.

That part abut cutting off water to your LEGAL food source for the sake of watering your illegal aliens makes no . . . WAIT! It is a scene out of one of your movies! Aliens are taking your water and dehydrating your people like so many apricots in the process! I think this is the part where you hold out your hand, Ahh-node, and say, "If you want to live, come with me."
