I... don’t... like.. this...
But, but, we can trust our government Can't we?
If I squeeze the chip with a pair of Vice Grips, would it still work?
“I had no idea my wallet had gone into my microwave. Gee, my license looks fine to me. You mean it ruined some little chip thingie inside? Really?”
Note from the article that even CA legislature banned this chip and Ahnold vetoed the ban. What a maroon!

Yes. They are here to help.
If my wife washes my wallet again.... will the chip still work?
As long as all of our congress critters get chipped, and we can look up their locations on GPS at anytime.
Stick the chipped DL inside a faraday cage (foil envelope) and it's useless to Law Enforcement.
More Reasons in Support of Civil Disobedience.
Chipped License and ID cards? Uh...NO! Not just “NO”, but “Hell, NO!”
These jackbooted thugs need to be made to stop these illegal, immoral assaults on the freedoms guaranteed to us by the Constitution.
I fear for the future of this grand experiment.
It’s time to take back the country.
Gee, one might think that with this kind of technology available, we might be able to effectively control...oh, I don’t know....WHO IS VOTING THAT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE VOTING.
To guard against voter fraud, we have nothing that works. For this Big Brother stuff, BAM, here it is.
“As long as all of our congress critters get chipped, and we can look up their locations on GPS at anytime.”
As “security risks,” they will, of course, exempt themselves. I’m sure they’ll also make it illegal to deface said chip, find a way to raise the cost of the license by $300 to cover the costs (except for illegal aliens and minorities, of course - who will be PAID to carry the cards), and then make sure everyone complies by renaming it the “GOOD AND HAPPY CARD,” and requiring you swipe it before using your ATM or Credit Card anywhere “Just to make sure you are who you say you are.”
This is not a defense of illegals but I would rather be up to my keister in Mexicans than have a ID card with a permanent bug in it.
