Take Heart: The Republicans say they can undo Socialism. And Gun Control.
LA gun rights examiner ^ | 27 February, 2009 | John Longenecker

Posted on 02/28/2009 4:42:55 AM PST by marktwain

The only way to reverse socialism is to invoke Republicanism. These would be safeguards of the Republic. What Conservatives have been calling Values are actually Safeguards of the Republic, and must be restored. The only way to do that is to get the right people elected next time around. No more watching from the bleachers and no more trying to teach them a lesson by electing democrats. I think we’re all coming to realize – gun owner or not – that there’s nothing democratic about democrats any more.

Q: Do you distrust officials more now than last year?

Q: Do you believe that the bailouts are unnecessary and wrong-headed? Are you suspicous?

Q: Do you believe you’re not being heard at all?

Q: Do you believe that the bailouts will become a planned disaster for our entire way of life?

Americans, from where we Gun Rights Examiners see things, are beginning to feel their freedoms more and more restrained in all areas. We believe that what the American people will tolerate was first tested and proven on Gun Control. All the elements are there: Identify a crisis by creating one or permitting one to develop; freeze the citizen out of its resolution, and issuing mandates which never solve the problem, but which control vast industries.

As liberty nuts in our own right, we see a liberty connection or what you might call a direct timeline from today’s unreasonable formulas back to the moves on guns in America since before the Kennedy Assassinations. In a decade where so many officials are crowing about reduced crime, why is the Federal Government insisting on more and more gun laws, especially the assault weapons ban?

Kind of odd, since so-called assault weapons are not the weapon of choice for criminals.

Q: Do you believe that all of these programs are unreasonable, but being forced anyway? No kidding? Do you believe that concepts such as the Active Denial System on U.S. soil are tiny clues that officials don't plan on listening?

The Republicans are not going to repeal all gun laws, we know this, but they do need to get in gear and make the freedom - armed citizen connection to the very values they stand for. This means repealing a great many unreasonable gun laws which criminalize honest choices and behaviors. The RNC needs to appreciate that this view of liberty is vital to their being elected. It is also vital to the survival of the nation as we know it. More constituents are buying weapons not in anticipation of looming confiscations, but of lowered expectations of government service.

The crisis doesn’t serve its purpose if the solutions work, in the Democrat Playbook. As I wrote before, it doesn’t work unless it fails, and since gun control fails every single time, it will be foisted on Americans as a means of continuing violence and further legislation theoretically based on greater social unrest and instability. They’re already revving up the Military for anticipated riots and what we would call redress of grievances.

That door is being shut in our faces on every floor in every public building.

1. The Republicans can begin campaigning now on one thing they should have done during the banking scandal: committing to seeing heads roll once discovering who is responsible for one of the worst judgments of Business and the blueprint for another looting. This scandal rang the dinner bell for unscrupulous officials and captains of industry to trade in their personal integrity for happy landings. Officials traded in their professional integrity. Some didn't.

2. One of the more important planks in what will be the new Republican Platform must be official support of gun rights in a major leap return to liberty and citizen authority over officials. The time for officials ignoring constituents has to stop with the next election. This has to be articulated.

No longer can the Republicans feel that the armed citizen is bad etiquette, uncouth, unseemly or bad form. This gets people killed when being armed can save a life. Republicans need to confer with liberty purists on this in order to regain insight into other freedom issues for family. The idea is to return to Independence from our servants, to escape dependency on our servants in never-ending crises. These crises can stop and in short order with the right people in office.

The Republicans have to get over the idea that constituents will think less of them for supporting the Second Amendment. Support that boldly, and you are making a pro-family statement. It says that can be trusted to support all our rights. How’s that?

Here's a question for the electorate: would you rather see public servants respect your independence and tell you that you are on your own on so many things, or take promises from servants who fail you and leave you on your own always?

Quote me on this: many citizens are outraged to learn that we are in fact on our own; liberty purists summon it, and in fact demand it, and hope that it always will be.

Liberty.

The socialists prefer the illusion of government provided security to the reality of the necessity of participating in providing for your own safety.

The only way to reverse socialism is to invoke Republicanism.

This is a joke considering the OP(formerly the GOP) has been purposely moving towards the socialist left for years in an effort to expand the voter base. Republicanism and socialism have incrementally become one and the same. Anyone who thinks the OP can turn around with the likes of former President McCain, Specter,Snowe, Collins, Graham leading the way, not to mention former President George W.Bush, is living in fantasy land. We essentially have a one Republicrat socialist party system and that won't change until Conservatives untie under their own party banner.

What Conservatives have been calling Values are actually Safeguards of the Republic, and must be restored.

I agree but not through the Republicrat party.

Former President McCain should read former President Bush.

Please define republican! I prefer the word "conservative." When I think of republican, I think of Snowe, Collins, Spector, get the point? Conservatives need to get off their a$$e$ and take back our sovreignty, liberty and our government. And we can't do that by whining and feeling sorry for ourselves.

Many people do not understand marxism or how we got here. We need to educate and bring back values, GOD, hope, decency, trust, conservatism compassion, faith based initiatives, I could go on and on. Never let people believe that the government can run our lives better than we can.

Here in PA of course I will not vote for Arlen Specter if he is the GOP nominee next year.

The GOP leadership united everyone else with three exceptions to oppose “stimulus” but then many of the opponents of “stimulus” were exposed by Glenn Beck as “earmarkers” like my Congressman Todd Platts (R-19th PA).

The GOP leadership wants to use fear to drive us to vote for them but they must understand we want “change” as well.

I think the united opposition to stimulus was well crafted because Obama could not claim Republicans blocked him. In fact, the GOP made sure to put up this united front to get brownie points with conservatives.

But the earmark GOP porker Congressmen are still there.

I look forward to conservative opposition to business as usual Republicans including Senator McCain next year.

The pubbies can’t even keep their own rino turds in line.
When they were in power they spent like drunk sailors and ignored any and all their base demands.
So NOW we should work for these bastards?
I work only for conservative, pro-life, Reagan conservatives who feel the best govt. is less govt.
Do no support RINO turds.

So many things come into play, politics is local so locally you hear one thing and on the national news you hear another. And it is so difficult to tell when the candidates are lying so who to support? The national republicans supported Specter when Toomey was the best choice! I do my research and vote for the most Conservative candidate but many times all those running are liberal, like in the last election (Duncan Hunter was my man, but he wasn't on the ballot by the time we could vote in Texas). What are we to do?

If the republicans claim to be able to reverse socialism, why didn't they do so in the first 6 years of this decade when they had the house, senate, and white house?

Only conservatives can reverse socialism, and there's a shortage of them in the republican party right now.

Can undo socialism? Yeah right. These guys couldn’t even stop it when they had both houses of congress and the presidency. There is no fix. Our form of government will eventually collapse.

With newer, younger Republicans leaders, all we’ll have is their word, not their long standing voting record to judge them by. If elected, they have to be able to withstand the pressure from career RINO’s and dems.
Everyone is looking for the next Reagan...while crickets are chirping in the dark.

Should read, “Republicans can undo socialism with proper use of firearms”

You can not count on law enforcement officials to protect you or your property. That is never going to happen. They are cleanup crews, not prevention resources.
That being said, you must take on the responsibility for your own protection. That can take many forms. For many of us, it includes ownership of, and competence with firearms. It also includes being vigilant and aware of our surroundings, and avoiding situations known to increase the potential for harm.
To that degree, firearms are but one component of a personal protection plan.
And, of course, there is the prospect that we may have to, one day, protect ourselves from our own government; a prospect that played into the crafting of the Second Amendment to US Constitution.

I don’t know if the GOP can undo socialism. Particularly in the case of socialized medicine, I think once it’s passed, it becomes an entitlement, and we’re stuck with it.

"We need a RINO hunt first and foremost"

Yes, and it has to start on the state level. I want a party that believes maintaining our values is more important than reaching across the isle enemy lines.

Ha ha ha!
