PBS Talk Show Host Tavis Smiley and a variety of America's black leaders meet in Los Angeles, CA, for the 2009 "State of the Black Union." This day-long event is titled, "Making America As Good As Its Promise." This event will re-air on C-SPAN2, Friday, March 6 at 8pm (ET).

I can’t help it.
The sheer hypocrisy of it all really irritates me.
I’m with you...it’s VERY irritating,and wearing very,VERY thin.
Does this mean somewhere on the horizon, there’ll be a STATE OF THE WHITE UNION?
I thought we’re supposed to have yellow be mellow, let brown stick around, let white do what is right, I forget the others.............
I can tell you what this conference will conclude without hearing any of it. They will say that much progress has been made with the status of black people, but that much work remains to be done. They will say that the election of Obama shows what is possible, but that the election of a black president alone does not represent the final equality of black America. They will say that the promise of Brown vs. Board of Education has not been fully realized, and that schools need more resources. They will say that everyone needs to be active in their communities to fight against the problems found there. But they will say that government has a big role to play, with education and health care, to solve the remaining problems.

Enough already!
Free houses, cars, welfare, and reparations for stuff that happened over a century ago...
