One thing he may have learned from Hitler is using a ‘crisis’ to move fast and consolidate your power while keeping the opposition on the wrong foot [which is made easier since half the GOP already has one out of play - in their mouth].

Bump and thank you for posting that sentiment.

There seems to be a nasty bout of ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome) here at FR. I guess they caught from the DIMS.

“She is MSNBC’s less funny and perhaps more butch version of Keith Olbermann.”

True. Keith’s a girl. Rachel’s more of man than he is.

“Life is a movie. The plot remains the same, only the actors and dialog change. Cacique 2009”

“All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players: Shakespeare, ~1600”

Holy cow! What’s a “Cacique”? Not really sure why he/she/it warrants a public quote, but I’m not missing the irony. This commentary didn’t originate with Shakespeare either.

This perpetual battle with socialism makes me feel like a Hindu. We’re just fighting it again, and again, and again..........

Going to let the kids watch “Ground Hog’s Day” this afternoon. Just a little “life lesson” for them.

Jim, I’m over 45 (a lot), have studied communism, and agree with you. But only up to a point. He is definitely a communist as he or William Ayres understands communism.

However, like Hitler, he came into office with the support of a significant share of very wealthy backers. George Soros comes to mind immediately, and there were a lot of “industrialists” and Wall Streeters, though some of the Street crowd may have bailed on him. Plus he has been surrounded by gangster thugs of the Chicago machine.

He sure looks a lot like a national socialist to me, as much as a Lenin-type communist. I would also agree, though, that the country he is shaping will look and behave like the Gulag Archipelago.

Because of the monied backers and the gangsters, I think the Hitler comparison is not inapt. Even Senator Byrd can see the danger of the SA and SS taking shape with all the super-cabinet positions the O is creating. Funny how Ernst Roehm and Rahm Emanuel have nearly the same sound. Interchangeable, almost.

You're kidding right? This IS a CONSERVATIVE forum.

The derangement syndrome meme was/is for President Bush.
Let them come up with a new meme for the fraudulent one now occupying the white house or anyone else they want to rage against.

...Not to mention that he intends to move HIS people into the banks and other industries he’s trying to take over.

Me thinks this is gonna end up bloody.

Let us never forget what happened to the Germans who were decenters. Near 20,000 of them faced Hitlers guillotines, and many others were locked away in prisons.

If you are not familiar with the anti-Nazi movement the White Rose, I hope you take the time and look their history up on the web. They deserve it.

If you don't do that, then at least please this movie up on your Netflix queue. You'll learn something, and you will be on your knees praying that history does not repeat itself in your life time.

Sophie Scholl: The Final Days

Sophie Scholl was executed by guillotine by the Third Reich after she was arrested and found guilty of distributing anti-Nazi leaflets at her college campus and for this she was beheaded along with several of the other brave young God-fearing people of the “White Rose”, an underground Nazi resistance movement. This is a dramatization of that event, it is a movie that will not leave you and will have you thinking about it for days after viewing. I highly recommend this film. I found myself drawn into this movie like few other movies will do. This is brilliant stuff. The tension becomes almost unbearable. The depiction of Freisler (The judge), which might seem over the top, but is quite consistent with accounts and actual film clips of the trial, maybe even understated. He was diabolical, tyrannical and very hot tempered.

Only thing missing is the flags in left photo.

That, and orderly rows and columns.

This point reminded me that the Democrat Party has always been the party of slavery. Today, however, they want to enslave the rich (which is of course anyone with a job, by their twisted logic). Their slavery is slavery by proxy.

Still operating plantations, too; now, rather than cotton and sugar cane, they're planting dollars and harvesting votes.

“first amendment right of religious belief and expression”

It doesn’t even have to be a religious belief. Being against abortion can be an atheist’s thing.

Aahh. Guess who “The American People” (I really cringe at that platitudinous phrase) would blame and demonize?

They’re on the right side, and they’re simply facing away - as is the photo. It should face the Capitol to be perfectly analogous.

“It appears that no one under the age of 45 has studied communism in school.”

True. Not really. But some of us were just lucky enough to be raised by people who love the Constitution (never mind the “US”) and hated communists - and hippies that popularized it.

He doesn’t like dogs. If he did, he would’ve already had 1 instead of being “forced” (ha-ha) to get 1 to comply with what Americans like in a president. (Frankly I couldn’t care less, though I like dogs. Actually I wouldn’t want Obama having a dog; I’d refuse to sell a dog to him.)

HE is a Marxist, and is using “the worse the better” but is also a lot like Hitler in his rock star presentation and the public response.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Our main problem is with all the people who don’t know what happened before or have no comprehension of what they do know. I can’t decide which is more prevalent or more dangerous in modern times, ignorance or stupidity, both seem to be at catastrophic levels.
