Limbaugh the Leader? Obama Chief of Staff Calls Talk Show Host a Barrier to Progress
FoxNews ^ | March 1, 2009 | FoxNews

President Obama's chief of staff said conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh is the de facto leader of the Republican Party, and suggested that Limbaugh's desire for the president's policies to fail is the uniform position of the GOP.

Chief of staff Rahm Emanuel said Limbaugh is the "intellectual force" of the GOP and Republicans now have to live with that choice.

"He is the voice and the intellectual force and energy behind the Republican Party. And he has been up front about what he views, and hasn't stepped back from that, which is he hopes for failure. He said it. And I compliment him for his honesty, but that's their philosophy that is enunciated by Rush Limbaugh. And I think that's the wrong philosophy for America," Emanuel said on CBS' "Face the Nation."

On Saturday, Limbaugh gave an hour-and-a-half speech to cap off the three-day Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. Limbaugh said it's fine for Republicans to criticize Obama's plans and Republicans must return to their core philosophies.

He added that Obama's plan won't restore prosperity and that's why he wants it to fail.

Why is Rahm Emmanual attacking Limbaugh? I think there are two reasons:

1. He wants to split the Republican party, "divide and conquer" motto has worked very well for the Dems, when Republicans/conservatives are divided and are fighting amongst themselves, the DEMS WIN.

2. I think Obama IS actually afraid that Rush' message will resonate and there will be a united opposition to Obama's socialist policies.

I think we all darn well need to hope and work to make sure that Obama's socialist, dictatorial policies, resulting in the destruction of our economy and the US as we know it WILL FAIL.

Obama's success is a third-world-like USSA (United Socialist States of America), where everyone ( except the ruling class) is equally poor, because "the rich" will leave the country and there won't be anyone left from whom to take things away. That's what happened in the communist countries.

If the left actually thought Limbaugh was bringing down the Republican party, they would promote him as much as possible.

Instead, they tear him down which means they are afraid he is effective.

Yes, Rahmbo would think that exercising the First Amendment would be a “barrier” to progress.

If Rush Limbaugh is the intellectual leader of the of Republican party, at least Republicans have an intellectual leader.

......I think Obama IS actually afraid ......

He took counsel of that fear, and then he made a critical strategic error. He dissed Rush. His ego got the best of him and his arrogance prevailed.

The rule was once never go to war with a man that buys ink by the barrel. The corollary is never dis a man with 3 hours a day on 650 radio stations and 20 million listeners

"And I think that's the wrong philosophy for America," Emanuel said on CBS' "Face the Nation."

Perhaps it is wrong for the commie America YOU want to create. But it is RIGHT for the FREE AMERICA we want to retain.

Once again, they fail to understand that Rush reflects and articulates OUR views and values, not give us orders on what to believe.
-They wanna take on Rush? They’ve got MILLIONS of us after him as well.

I watched Rush's speech and I didn't see him promoting any particular party. Simply a stalwart champion of Conservatism. Not once did he mention the GOP, to the best of my recollection. Bravo for Rush!

Why are Rahm Emanuel and the Democrats so worried about Rush? They have all the power. Really, can one man stop them? The reality is they can do whatever they want and yet they portray Rush like he can single-handedly thwart the Democrats socialist agenda!

ROFLMAO!
