So good to see your Dad settled in at home! Hope it all goes well for both of you, without the hustle and bustle of hospitals and visits.

Never met an astrological “Cancer” who didn’t LOVE ICE CREAM!!!

Yep, I loves me some ice cream! Born July 3rd! We always had homemade ice cream for my birthday, because we usually celebrated it the following day, with fireworks and everything! ;o)

Already miss the decency and dignity, but knew that would be the case.

The crowd that was full of talk about ‘restoring the respect and dignity’ of the U.S. should take a look at the photos y’all have archived on these threads to catch a glimpse of what it is and how it’s done.

I’m pretty sure Annie is old enough to remember most of the milestone visit if not all of it.

If memory serves, she’s 8...(I didn’t look to remind myself befor typing this reply, lol)

...Anyhoo,I was 4 when my earliest memories started to stick with me.

So 8 yr olds should have no trouble remembering...Here’s hoping, for her fond memories sake!
:)

Yes .. and that was his totally spontaneous reaction to their sign for him to stop, and so so thoughtful.

We know how you feel, Annie .. so many rude people to such a decent man. What an adorable girl, and what a typically thoughtful kindness by this dear man we miss. Her President is definitely our favorite President.

;^) squared!

"... so thoughtful."

Yes, and as we came to know, just another manifestation of the goodness and decency of the man.

Investors Business Daily has a great editorial about our beloved President Bush

A poll of average Iraqis conducted by ABC News, the BBC and Japan's NHK shows significant progress on virtually all fronts. Yet, we've heard nary a peep about it from anyone.

Some 85% of respondents said their neighborhood security was "good," vs. 62% a year ago and just 43% in August of 2007. And 52% said security had gotten better in the last year — during the Bush-Petraeus "surge," which was widely ridiculed at the time as an unnecessary escalation of the Iraq War.

Support for democracy jumped to 64%, a 21-percentage-point gain since 2007, according to a report on CNSNews.com. As for how Iraqis felt about the general state of affairs in Iraq, 58% called it "very good" or "quite good," up significantly from 43% last year and 22% in 2007.

When asked what their concerns are today, Iraqis sound a lot like Americans: Jobs and prices are at the top of their list — not war, not security, not terrorism.

You can read the entire editorial here Bush's Big Victory

To: Kaslin; All

THANK YOU for posting the wonderfully insightful commentary from IBD: President Bush was RIGHT . . . Mission Accomplished!

Tonight, we need to say a special prayer for President Bush. Tomorrow, he will deliver his first post-presidency ‘remarks’ (in Canada) — the leftist haters will be out in force!

At least PRESIDENT BUSH AND LAURA ENJOYED A WONDERFUL WEEKEND WITH THE HOWARDS:

Laura and George W. Bush are settling in enough to begin welcoming friends to Dallas. Over the weekend, the Bushes entertained former Australian Prime Minister John Howard and his wife, Janette. Back when both men were in office, the Howards were guests at the Bushes’ Prairie Chapel Ranch. The Aussie pol was one of Bush’s staunchest allies in the war on terror.

God bless a REAL leader. He is very much missed in these last
few months, when it seems like our government has become
like a blind hamster on a treadmill, going ‘round and ‘round,
never getting anything done and not even knowing where it goes.
