OLYMPIA, Wash. – Terminally ill patients with less than six months to live will soon be able to ask their doctors to prescribe them lethal medication in Washington state.

But even though the "Death with Dignity" law takes effect Thursday, people who might seek the life-ending prescriptions could find their doctors conflicted or not willing to write them.

Many doctors are hesitant to talk publicly about where they stand on the issue, said Dr. Tom Preston, a retired cardiologist and board member of Compassion & Choices, the group that campaigned for and supports the law.

I don’t know how to explain it in such a way that even a troll can understand it. Jim Robinson has repeatedly voiced his support for life. It takes an extremely stupid person not to get that. It’s ironic that they advocate death to anyone with limited brain function, and they don’t realize they themselves are below the arbitrary threshold they’ve set up. Sooo not relevant here. This is about assisted suicide, not euthanasia or murder. A life expectancy of 70 years would not make a patient eligible for this option of assisted suicide. Please read the bill, and post relevant to the thread. Red herrings are useless and DU tactics.
