Political pragmatism is most certainly not welcome here on FR. Read through this thread (and pretty much any thread with the name “Michael Steele” in it) and you will see that. The inability of conservatives to stop savaging those they disagree with on any one issue will lead to another electoral defeat regardless of how inept Obama is proving to be.

I don’t agree with Steele on all issues, but I think he’s a good man. I didn’t agree with any candidate we had on all issues (maybe Fred Thompson) but they’re still mostly in line with my views. To so many people here, that’s not acceptable. They didn’t even need to tear down any Republican candidates - we did that for them. It must be amusing for all the radical leftists in this country to watch us eat our own over and over.

Uh, it was Steele who dissed Rush in a bad way, first.

Rush only stood up for himself and you are condemning him and the rest of us for setting this issue straight?

Crazy.

this isn’t about the issues. This is about strategy and tactics and Steele doesn’t seem to have a clue. You don’t win elections by screwing your base and the most popular radio host.

Again to those who support Sarah Palin and were livid about how the MSM tried to present her performance in one interview as typical of her being dumb and a moron: How disgusted were you with the MSM and Obama?

We know that the MSM were wrong then and we would be hypocritical if we weren’t as charitable towards Steele. Please be magnanimous now. He did apologize to Rush.

You mean folks like Spector and Snowe? Look we lost, something needs to change. Steele appears to be another RINO. I'm upset with him. However, I'll allow this foul up if in his next appearance we see a more focused man.

Did you see the Vid I posted at 213? You'll understand.

Bush was a good guy, too I bet. What with the way he TARPED us. You probably felt good about voting for McCain, beacause he did the morally right thing, and came home from his gruelling (trying to lose on purpose) campaign so he could help TARP TARP TARP. And Steel’s a good man. He just momentarily forgot who the hell he was and what the hell he stands for. You’re clearly delusional.

Steele will drive people away from the Republican party. Pragmatism? What is that supposed to mean? Moderates running? Like McCain?

These are the same ones that brag about their "purist conservativeness"...brand anyone they don't agree with 100% a RINO...and directly or indirectly, they are greatly responsible for helping put obama into office!
