Actually no. But someone else failed to teach this girl there are times when a hissy fit as you call it is not going to do you any good. In your own vein I guess you give your children everything they want. With no limits set by yourself.

If you have ever raised a teenager you would realize your response is overly simplistic.

It's obvious that this girls behaviour is immature, which is normal. Every fifteen year old goes through that unless she has been brutalized by her dad to the point that she is scared to death.

It's also obvious that this cop is way too unstable to be in his line of work.

As a former corrections officer, I know the crap they have to deal with and this guy should have charges filed against him.

Unfortunately no I’ve never raised a teenager. The closest I’ve come is raising the daughter of a girlfriend for the first 5 years of her life. After 2 years she knew if I said something to believe it. On the other hand her mother could not control her. I never laid a hand on her but she was setting in a corner before she could walk with me right behind her. Her mother would yell and believed in spanking for anything. The out come her and me are still very close she will not even talk to her mother. She will ask for my advice, I give advice not tell her what to do.

So over simplistic I think not it is set in the first years of their life. If as a baby they learn they control you that is how they respond to anyone older. They have it ingrained they are are in control. At that point it takes something like this to show different. I’m reminded of the guy that was caned in Taiwan when asked if he would ever repeat the offense, He said not in Taiwan.

If this girl was apprehended driving a car that had been reported stolen then her skills as a manipulator and sassy little bitch are probably quite superior to those you and I have encountered in our parenting! I had a daughter and later a niece that went through that stage. If I hadn't been desensitized by the experience with my daughter several years before the niece came along I probably would have killed her. We thought our daughter was an award-winning sassy bitch, but the niece put her in the shade.

That having been said, the office involved should not be where he is. But then as basic parenting skills circle the drain these days it's getting harder and harder to find someone who has what it takes to handle a full-blown bitchy-sassy in-your-face kid, especially female.
