Michael Steele you’re an affirmative Action choice who can’t cut it. Stop embarrassing us and resign
The Collins Report ^ | March 3, 2009 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

Posted on 03/03/2009 6:05:14 AM PST by jmaroneps37

Michael Steele it’s time for you to go. You’re an affirmative action failure who never should have been elected to run the RNC and you scare me.

There is no evidence to suggest you have any grasp of your mission as RNC Chairman. With the life of our nation at stake, America has no time for you to learn. Nothing about you gives me hope or confidence we can turn our Party around.

I wanted to reserve my decision and give you the benefit of any doubt, yet frankly Mr. Steele your election as the first Black RNC Chair smelled fishy from the beginning.

After Obama’s election it seemed a bit too politically correct and looked like panicky affirmative action designed to attract people who will NEVER vote Republican anyway.

My suspicions about you proved well founded.

You just don’t get it.

Your remarks about Rush Limbaugh being an entertainer who is “incendiary” and at times “ugly” prove you don’t understand grassroots conservatism. I can’t overlook this shortcoming.

You are the de jure head of the Republican Party, but because of the vacuum your lack of leadership has produced, Rush Limbaugh IS the de facto leader of the Party.

I’m sick of a leaderless rudderless RNC giving us Bob Michel type leadership. I want a Chairman who will stand up and fight for conservatism and be able to distinguish friends from enemies.

Because of you I will revert to “Whitemailing” the RNC. I’ll send your envelops back with a note giving you a piece of my mind, but nothing else. I won’t contribute another penny to the RNC until you are gone Mr. Steele.

I speak only for myself, but I hope others will join me in this insistence that you leave office before we make any further contributions.

This was not an easy conclusion to come to, but it is the right one. Lincoln went through a string of generals until he found Grant. We have to find our U.S. Grant and he aint Mike Steele.

The RNC will not be getting any of my money as long as he is in charge.

There are a lot of us who thought Steele was vastly overrated and preferred Katon Dawson instead. Too many Pubbies turned their nose up at him because he is a Southerner. Well thanks a lot.

At this point, I’m not a Michael Steele fan, but I take offense at anyone calling him an “affirmative action” hire. That, to me, is borderline racist. Michael Steele is a man of considerable talent. He is a very likable guy who was elected to statewide office. To dismiss him as an affirmative action hire is offensive.

Steele/RNC just sent me an email asking for money. I unsubscribed from their mailing list.

I received an email from him just this morning wanting a donation. I sent it back of course with a nice note.

Personally, I don’t see what his race has to do with any of it.

I wish Duncan Hunter had put his name into the ring for the chairmanship.

He’s a true Reaganite who could whip the party into shape. The fact that he doesn’t wet himself every time the democrats speak is nice too.

I was somewhat surprised that he was selected in the first place as his background is not very encouraging. The conventional wisdom is that forcing him out now will only reinforce typical cries of Republicans are racists. It is probably a lose/lose situation that should not have happened in the first place.

Too bad, all blacks now have to live with that cloud over their heads.

Why did we put Steele in (who has about as much intellect as the Obamalooon) in there when we have countless A-Americans who are brilliant (Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, etc)?

The ironic thing is that I’ve worked with numerous A-Americans who are PhDs in real subjects (such as physics, EE, philosophy) who make anyone in the current administration look even more like the clueless loons that they are.

“Personally, I don’t see what his race has to do with any of it.”

I agree and the author of this article sounds like a moron for his affirmative action comments.

That said, I think the one good thing about Obama’s presidency is that is should logically terminate all official affirmative action policies. But it won’t...

I really wanted him to succeed, but unfortunately he does not appear up to the task. Hip Hop the Republican Party? Calling Rush's show “ugly” because he wanted DL Hughley to like him? This is a man who seems more interested in his position than resurrecting a moribund party. He's out of his depth. Time to go.

It ain't Steele's fault. The whole GOP leadership has been convinced by the media that is what needs to be done.

We need the "Hip Hop" vote, that was when I knew it was All Over!

#####

Not there is a scary proposistion- being called “racists” yet AGAIN, by vacuous fools who have no idea what the terminology actually means. Tired, inaccurate and utterly ineffectual.

I am so post “racist” that it is not even funny.....

your post proved exactly the point of what the problem is here...

a one time lt governor of a small very liberal state is somehow a man of considerable talent?

why?

I know why.

He's a black sorta conservative and some folks just can't help themselves...that's why.

The guy is milquetoast.

Calling him an affirmative action hire is just what he is. you guys had to have black and you got it.

happy now?

find a real conservative who happens to be black and I might act silly about it too if he's a decent speaker but let me know when you do.

the handful I know of are not in politics.

time to give up on blacks for now quit identity politics period

we will never move enough blacks to the right to matter unless they do it of their own accord and now 150 years later they still ain't moved....waiting on the mule and the acreage ...first the radical Republicans ands now post FDR, the Dems.

and needless to say anyone who disagrees with you is aracist of course...let's just drop that stinky pickle right from the getgo

what in the hell happened to my country where merely uttering such Godawful plainly obvious facts makes one a racist?

The conventional wisdom is that forcing him out now will only reinforce typical cries of Republicans are racists.

If THAT is a concern, there are plenty of good Black Conservatives to fill the post.
