Here are the remarks (as prepared for delivery) that President Barack Obama spoke via video to the AFL-CIO executive Council in Miami today.

At the very end of the speech, Obama made what all of labor hoped and expected: a promise to pass the Employee Free Choice Act, or 'card-check' for short. Here goes:

He's following the socialist playbook.

Make the rich the enemy, its the "vote for me and I will take their money and give it to you".

Castro has been doing it for 50 years and Chavez has it down pat as well.

This sort of thing needs to be nipped in the bud or it becomes a real problem.

The majority of people don't pay taxes, they intend to keep it that way by voting socialist.

Nonsense.

Shudder and shake to your heart’s content. “Intimidation and thuggery” is NOT a tactic that gets much play in the United States these days. Not without a racial component, anyway.

And you just left it there?

“This sort of thing needs to be nipped in the bud or it becomes a real problem.”

How? That is the big question.

Unions are bad enough to screw up even Walmart. Obama continues his war on capitalism.

I do not like the unions. At one time in our history the unions stood up for the worker when abused by companies. Those days are long past. Most nonunion workers are treated fairly and wages and benefits are competitive. Now the unions serve only themselves. My dad was in the teamsters for 50 years and when he fell ill and was unable to work the union did not fulfill it's obligations. But they still wanted the dues even if he was unable to pay. Eventually he died and my mother still got statements from union indicating he was late with his dues.

If you want a good picture of what the unions will do to the industries that are not under it's iron fist look at the auto industry. Once one of the most profitable industries in the US is now owned by the unions that constantly request unreasonable contracts. The unions are mostly filled with hard working Americans but the unions are run by thugs who only care about themselves and what they can take form industry and the individual. The cost of these contracts do nothing but increase the price of goods to everyone and the quality of the product suffers as well.

When we elected Obama we drove the death nail into the heart of the country. Obama and his administration want nothing but to make things so bad that they can justify the government taking over the private sector one industry at a time until all industry is gone and everyone works for the government. I love this country with all my heart and it makes me very sad at what Obama and the Democrats are doing to the country.

As far as the stimulus and Obama budget are concerned let me say this. When you are doing you family budget and find that you are in deficit do you go to the bank and borrow more money to pay off the debt, then sign a contract that says your children will pay back all principle and interest of the new debt? When did this become the American way of life. This is what Obama and the Democrats have done with the bailouts, stimulus and budgets projecting trillions of dollars all the way out until 2019. How can we in good conscience do this to the next generation.

I tried to join the union and they took it to a executive vote and I was not allowed to join even thought they represent me. I was very vocal in 2000 when we tried to decertifiy the collective bargaining unit of where I work.

The other problem I have is the stewards have a green bar print out of everyones seniority date and labor grade. This had always been confidential information but not any more. After they first got in they did a little fancy footwork of doing a add on to the bargain of giving union officials and union stewards employment protection in being bumped out of their labor grade of being layed off and being called back to work.

I have pointed out that this is a violation of my states constitutional rights to work that say that a persons employment and maintainment of employment can not be determined based upon being in the union or not in the union. Their answer was the unions have deep pockets and no one has ever fought this clause in a contract in a right to work state.

I could be wrong, but my instinct says no.

Your instinct gives him way toooooooo much credit. He wants to be idolized and worshiped by Caesar Chavez, Fidel Castro, you, me and everyone else on the planet. There is no limit to this ape's ambition.

And you expect cooperation? If you HAD been a member, they would have thrown you out!

The other problem I have is the stewards have a green bar print out of everyones seniority date and labor grade. This had always been confidential information but not any more.

It's not SUPPOSED to be confidential in a union shop. You may as well complain that other people know how much money you make, because it used to be confidential information...

I have pointed out that this is a violation of my states constitutional rights to work that say that a persons employment and maintainment of employment can not be determined based upon being in the union or not in the union.

If your interpretation is correct, you should have a fine case for the NLRB.

My question to you is "at what point do you conclude something is not the union's 'fault' and you are just wrong?"

How many of that "majority" do you suppose are union members?

This is getting scary. If you are not a government worker or a union worker you end up being a non-US resident in exile living in freedom somewhere else. The brains and the money are leaving.

Capitalists and conservatives had better start punishing these people while it is still legal. Lay them off now before its too late.

Yeah, I can just see the Congressional hearings on the "loss of American competitiveness in the world" circa 2011. Timed just right to help shove the O back down our throats for a second even more disastrous term...

The CEO of what's left of General Motors testifies "That is correct Senator, my company collapsed in spite of the billions the government poured into it. The root causes are easy to trace: massive tax hikes hitting all sizes of business; increasingly strict environmental regulations and MPG limits requiring re-engineering from top to bottom; universal health care costs that tripled in the past 2 years; and unions that now control 100% of my workforce, which they used to extort exhorbenant contracts from the company."
