I have a feeling you have a lot of people with a lot of different conditions, from bacterial infections, to allergies, to mental disorders, to being around fiberglass insulation.. the common factor is they all listen to Rense or Coast to Coast and have convinced themselves their issue is this mysterious Morgellions conspiracy.. It isn’t mentioned here, but much of the conspiracy around these are they are a government created superbug sprayed in chemtrails or something of the sort..
I’m puzzled by the Wikipedia version of the story of the woman who “discovered” this ailment in her 2 year old son. It says she reported that doctors started to refuse to see her and her son, asserting that she suffered from Munchausen’s By Proxy. It occurs to me that the proper approach for a 2 year old who is believed to be in such a situation is to remove the child from its parents into a controlled environment for a period of time, to see if the symptoms dissappear. On the other, it’s also reported that the doctors who examined her son couldn’t find anything at all wrong with his skin — no lesions, etc.
The trouble with something like this is that it certainly inspires a lot of cases of which ARE simply psychiatric in nature, and the cases where a real physiological problem is present are apt to get lost in the shuffle of crazies bringing little containers of fibers to their doctors with stories that the fibers crawled out of their skin, only to have lab analysis find that the fibers are identical to those that the patient’s close are made of.
It does sound to me like any real cases are most likely some sort of immune system failure, which would explain why no unusual pathogens are found in lab analysis, but the patients are still getting unusual symptoms not found in most people in whom the same garden variety pathogens are routinely found. It would also explain the lack of evidence of contagion.
Because it is the Wikipedia version, it doesn't have to make sense..
Out here in the hills of Appalachia, people are often sure they’ve seen mountain lions. As with the variety of Morgellons bugs and worms, no one has yet discovered and provided any hair, feces, blood, hide, or any other biosample to prove the Appalachian mountain lion’s existence.
This is real and serious to those who have it. Have seen it and per instructions sent people off with the “delusory parasitosis” label. I know many will make fun of it as they already have but it’s here and devastating to the victims.
Biological warfare?
I remember when this first started appearing and people were blogging about it on the alternative medicine site because they were they only ones who would listen. The doctors were referring people to shrinks and some Freepers were making with the tin-foil-hat jokes. How horrible it must be to have this.
You just keep telling yourself that and pray to God that one day you don't come down with this. I sincerely mean that.

I shouldn’t mock people who have mental problems, and I am sincerely sorry I did that. However, I do not believe this is a real disease. I have read extensively about it and I think the people who have been diagnosed with it have serious problems that are psychological, not medical.
May God have Mercy on the precious people that are suffering from this dreadful disease! The stress must be just awful.
This should say something about the likelihood that this "disease" is anything other than mass hallucination.
My guess is it’s fungal in nature, or oomycetes.
“...you could have read a book by the light coming out of my forearm...Clear crystal like glitter literally poured from my forehead constantly, and hard bits of plastic forced their way up through my skin.” I don’t believe any of this. I do not believe reputable medical doctors and scientists have confirmed your experiences as real. Anyone who is encouraging you to believe these things are really happening is either nuts or is exploiting your psychiatric problems. It would be fake compassion of me to encourage this invasion-of-the-body-snatchers stuff. Please seek real psychiatric help.
Yep, I saw a show - some mystery diagnosis or ER program where a woman had little grub-like worms living under her scalp. Just like this article describes, numerous Drs chalked up the woman’s symptoms to something mental. But, the ER Dr got lucky and saw one of the critters and pulled out several. The woman and her husband were ecstatic. It was totally gross and weird.
I totally understand your reaction, the funny thing is the ones truly living in a state of unreality are the ones denying this, you don’t have to believe me, I’m beyond needing to prove this to anyone, my point in posting the story was that it was newsworthy, the CDC is investigating this, albiet probably not in a serious manor as they only allocated 330k to the study (I mean come on). However, many here are hearing about it for the first time.
I have children, my life is literally ruined, but I believe once identified Morgellons will be able to be treated, I will no doubt die from this, perhaps they wont have to, I’ve already resigned to that end, I’ve not really even stressed over, the pain is so much that I welcome the end, but I need to try to live another 8 or 9 years if I can to see my children to adulthood. The reality is that I what I stated above is not all that unusual to a lot of people living through this nightmare. I wish you well, and that you do not come down with this.
