I suggest that everyone, even though you are not saying anything that would require a visit from the SS, go through a proxy server or use an IP hider. Hide your IP. That also helps Jim because he can't turn over your IP. Most people have an IP that changes constantly and is shared with thousands of others. NEVER EVER use AOL's browser. AOL is not your friend and they are affiliated with Time Warner and Google.
I'm suggesting this because we don't live in normal times right now. We have a POS president( yea SS that means piece of sh*t, come get me), who calls out citizens like Joe the Plumber, Rush, Santelli, etc. Of course if they start violating 1st amendment rights when it's obvious there is no real threat involved, all hell is probably going to break lose, but a good crisis is what they need, don't give them that opportunity and Cheney many times. I don;t see them in jail or shut down. You can't say you are planning it, going to do it, would help do it, things like that. IP hiding services only succeed in giving a false sense of security and blocking you from your average Joe citizen on things like wikipedia. Even corporate networks can get around those services (seen it myself on people trying to use them on a corporate network), so it would be a breeze for government entities to do so. Not to mention it would be a red flag to say hey, the people that are trying to hide can all be tracked through here..

Might be worth doing and might help Jim.

However, I’d bet that the powers that be either have set up the proxy servers or have all the data on them copied to their acres of computers in real time 24/7.
