On March 2, 2009 State Senator Kim Elton, who was the Chairman of the Legislative Council investigating Troopergate, resigned to take an appointment at the Interior Department.
Maybe it is Elton who should be investigated for misuse of the Legislative Council.
Elton is a long-time friend of Pete Rouse, who was Senator Obamas chief of staff and campaign advisor. (Rouse currently serves in the White House as a Senior Advisor.) According to CNN reports after Governor Sarah Palin was selected for the GOP ticket, the Obama campaign contacted the PSEA Union that represented Trooper Wooten and filed the phony complaint against her.
The connection between Elton and the Obama campaign should have served as a warning sign, but the liberal media wanted Palins scalp so they overlooked the relationship.
On several occasions Freedom of Information Requests were filed for emails, phone logs and other communications between the Obama campaign and Senator Elton. They were refused on the claim that FOIAs do not apply to legislators. Why not disclose all information in order to make the investigation legitimate? Because Elton had no intention of being impartial.
In fact, his investigation became so politically charged that 5 state legislators filed suit against the Chairman, Senator Hollis French, and the Democrats handpicked investigator, Stephen Branchflower.
In an attempt to restore impartiality to the proceedings, Alaskas Speaker of the House, John Harris requested a special meeting with the Legislative Council, but his request was refused.
Elton continued on his witch hunt to destroy Palin by allowing the investigator to write the report before witnesses were even interviewed, misconstrue certain evidence and disregard evidence that was helpful to Palin.
Minutes after the Branchflower Report was publicly released, Elton told the Anchorage Daily News that perhaps people will know how to vote in November.
Furthermore, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, Senator Elton donated $2250 to the Obama campaign. Clearly, Elton was vested in the outcome of the Presidential race and played smear politics with Governor Palins reputation in order to help sway the election.
So much for Obamas change politics. It is dirty politics as usual.
Not doubting the validity of this, but if this is true it really needs to be exposed. This is exactly how it works in Chicago.
Ping.
“Obama rewards Troopergate Chairman” Ping a ling
Does the Alaska Governor have any say in this, as far as clearing her name?
Pay to Play, eh ?
Sarah is the Governor, this guy is dead meat, served up slightly warmed in DC.
Does Each State have it’s “Illinois Affairs” at the Interior Dept.? Bureaucrats getting GOVT. jobs when NO ONE ELSE IN THE FREE WORLD WILL HIRE THEM.
If it wasn’t so blatantly predictably and petty a thing for a Rat to do ...... how small of this small man, Obama, chief partisan and Pubbie avenger of the free world .... PING!

“A legislative investigation has concluded that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power in pushing for the firing of an Alaska state trooper who was once married to her sister, or by failing to prevent her husband Todd from doing so.
*snip*
The chairman of the Legislative Council, Sen. Kim Elton, D-Juneau, said he agreed with Branchflower’s findings but wasn’t ready to suggest there should be any consequences for the governor.
“We don’t charge people, we don’t try people as legislators,” Elton said. Any further action or disciplinary measures, he said, would be up to Palin’s executive branch, the attorney general or the state Personnel Board.”

If there is a lower form of existence on the face of the earth than Obama, it’s rock hasn’t been kicked over yet!
Where are all of our investigative FReepers?
Well, now that the man is an employee of the United States Government, can we investigate to see if this is a “pay to play” or a payback of some kind?
Our communists leader, King Obama, showing his true colors. It cannot be stressed how much America is in trouble.
It’s been clear to others, it’s finally clear to me, this ‘president’ is ‘talking smack’ as a matter of policy!
Is anybody really surpirsed by this news?
The dems go into a mind boggliing frenzy at the mere mention of her name.
They experience an immediate fight or flight reaction.
They are like vampires in fear of her sunlight.
Its fairly clear what the Dem strategy on Palin is:
Try and destroy her before 2011.
And its our job to destroy them, the one opposing her. Quid Pro Quo. They do not like two playing that game, BTW, if you have not noticed,
They can say all sorts of untrue things about Palin, but a similar approach to Obama is "racist" and " inappropriate." Buahahahahah!
Palin followers were alleged to have threatened the life of the ONE, but SS agents heard nothing, and found it baseless after investigating. The Dems make this stuff up.
No, we have to stop being so reticent in attacking Obamas policies, and the stupid running dogs he uses to invoke the loss of inndividual freedoms in America.
Supporting Sarah will not be enough. we need to odefend her from malicious law suits brought by dem prosecutors, and defend her in the press.
Then She has Obama PWND.
All we have to do after that is help her get out the vote:

Superdelegate from Juneau backs Obama
Juneau Empire (AK) - Tuesday, May 20, 2008
Author: Pat Forgey ; JUNEAU EMPIRE
Alaska’s last two uncommitted Democratic superdelegates announced Monday they were backing Barack Obama for president.
Juneau’s Cindy Spanyers said the Illinois senator has the ability to carry Alaska in the November general election.
“He has a streak of independence that Alaskans like,” she said.
Joining Spanyers in making a long-awaited commitment was Blake Johnson of Kenai. Alaska’s two other superdelegates, University of Alaska Fairbanks’ John Davies and Democratic Party Chairwoman Patti Higgins, have already committed, to Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., respectively.
Monday’s announcements mean Alaska’s superdelegates have backed Obama by a 3-1 ratio, closely mirroring his lead over Clinton in the February Alaska caucuses.
The move in favor of Obama comes at a time when he has built a commanding lead over Clinton to win the Democratic nomination, but still needs additional delegates for an outright victory.
State Sen. Kim Elton , D-Juneau, a prominent Obama supporter, said it was important that Alaska’s superdelegates committed while their support mattered.
“This is a very good time,” he said. Delegates that commit after Obama has the nomination sewn up would lose their chance to win support for Alaska issues, he said.
“I think the Alaska superdelegates are going to commit to the people they believe in,” he said, “but it is very good to commit when the commitment still means something for the state of Alaska.”
