Snowe, Collins: Ado over Limbaugh reflects struggles of party
The Kennebec Journal, Kennebec, Me. ^ | 2009-03-09 | Dieter Bradbury

Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh is casting a shadow over the Republican Party's efforts to redefine itself after two losing election cycles.

For moderate U.S. Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, who defied the party's national trend by easily winning re-election in Maine in 2006 and 2008, respectively, it's almost too much to bear.

"You'd think they might take a page out of our book rather than trying to fight it," Snowe said of the national GOP last week. "They don't want to acknowledge where they've gone wrong."

The RINO’s who run the party are in complete agreement with those two and the rest of the turncoats. Throw them out, do it now or the Party is doomed. I will not come back until that happens.

“Redefine itself,” is the problem.

Hey Susie baby, the GOP DID take a page out of your playbook. They nominated RINO McCain and had the other two frontrunners - Rudy and Mitt cut from the same cloth.

Gee, that must be why all of the Democrats who won in IN in the past....oh....40 years, have had to campaign to the right of their opponent.

These two woman are political parasites. They know full well that they got reelected because Maine is an extreme left wing state so that's why they have a ‘moderate’ voting record. Snow and Collins only vote the way their liberal constituents tell them to. Their political ideology would NOT play well in the conservative states.

What the Republican Party needs to do is purge itself of spineless RINOS like you, Olympia.

YOU are the problem, not Rush Limbaugh.

Just about every place on earth has a town close by where the people all have the same name and effects of inbreeding are obvious. For the United States, Maine is that place.

The people there are strange and their thinking is even stranger.

If we can rid of these two and McCain and Specter and Graham I’d be pretty happy.
Too bad we can’t get them all in 2010!

So Snowe and Collins think the GOP should continue its leftward trend of recent years and fully embrace the big tent philosophy and the idea of more big government Republicanism. Even though that policy agenda led to the failures of 2006 and 2008.

Snowe, Collins and the likes of Arlen Specter aren't conservatives and do not believe in upholding the Constitution. They should immediately join the Dems and complete the process.

Where we’ve gone wrong, Olympia, is allowing people like you to define themselves as “republicans”. It gives the entire party the bad name from which it is currently working to extricate itself. Generally, of course, in exactly the wrong way.
