Should the motto "In God We Trust" be removed from U.S. currency?

Will NBC be surprised??*

Here's your chance to let the media know where the people stand on our faith in God, as a nation.

NBC is presently taking a poll on "In God We Trust" to stay on our American currency.

Please send this to every Christian you know so they can vote on this important subject.

Please do it right away, before NBC takes this off their web page. Poll is still open so you can vote:

This is not sent for discussion. If you agree forward it, if you don't, delete it. By my forwarding it, you know how I feel. I'll bet this is going to be a surprise to NBC.

Yes. It’s a violation of the principle of separation of church and state. 14%

No. The motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion. 86%

Wow even the Lefty’s can’t bring themselves to say yes, take it off. Maybe only FREEPERS have hit the poll so far?

It’s at 86% for “NO”. And this is on MSNBC the lefties main mouthpiece!

If you don’t like the motto, then don’t use them.

The real question is “SHOULD BARACK OBAMA BE REMOVED FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENCY?

Or for "no, I trust in God.

Why do they keep re-treading this poll. The numbers for "no" seem to increase each time.

IIRC, wasn’t it added in the mid-20th century? There is considerable historical precedent in the US for not having it, regardless of the motivations of those who would actively seek to remove it.

I'd rather remove these words:

This note is legal tender
for all debts, public and private.

I think because they were expecting the opposite result.
12 Million plus votes and 86% prefer to keep the motto.

This poll has been going for some time now. PMSNBC apparently is leaving it and the margin of no vs yes has been the same for quite a while. 12+ million responses. I wish “hell no” would have been one of the answers.

O, thus be it ever, when free-men shall stand

Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation!

Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the heav’n-rescued land

Praise the power that hath made and preserved us a nation!

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,

And this be our motto—“In God is our Trust.”

And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
