Intelligence pick wants national ID

JERUSALEM – Following the 9/11 attacks, President Obama's nominee for a top intelligence post advocated that to effectively combat terrorism, the U.S. government should implement a national identity system, "so we better know who is who."

In testimony before the 9/11 commission, Charles "Chas" Freeman, the U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War, also recommended conducting the war on terrorism primary as a law enforcement effort.

Freeman is slated to head the U.S. National Intelligence Council, or NIC, a crucial component of the U.S. intelligence apparatus. The NIC serves as the center for midterm and long-term strategic thinking within the American intelligence community. It provides intelligence briefs for Obama and key U.S. agencies and produces reports that help determine American policy on crucial issues, such as Iran's nuclear program.

I would rather hand my FBI file to Hillary than have Obama issue me an ID card.

This is from the same administration that is against E-Verify so we aren't even allowed to see who is here legally and who isn't, but they want to issue cards to everyone else. I suppose it will be illegal to not hire Juan Valdez just because he doesn't have one of these cards - or else they will be handed out to everyone, citizen, legal alien and illegal, without any indication as to which group they belong to.

Time to look at som LOL cats because my blood pressure is too high from Obummer and gang.

"conducting the war on terrorism primar(il)y as a law enforcement effort"

So they can have the police arrest people like; Christians, Republicans, Caucasian Males, NRA Members .....

Stuff like that.

Dems want national ID cards, "So we know who is who". Will we also have to wear a distinctive patch above our left breast pocket (an elephant, a cross, Casper the Ghost, a gun...)???!

I used to regularly post these links to Real ID threads - especially when states began balking en-masse at the idea of a Federally mandated electronically trackable ID - and when the Feds also were planning to FORCE the states to eat the cost of issuing them.

Many people on this forum used to simply love the idea of a National ID card as the way to deal with the illegal immigration problem....while on the flipside, many of us railed against the idea as a prelude to Federalized monitoring of the LEGAL citizenry's every move, and that such an ID would do absolutely ZILCH to combat illegal immigration.

Wonder how some of those same folks feel now that the Obama Administration is championing this idea?

FYI - the links are a bit dated now and some may no longer work, as it has been well over a year since I compliled this list.

Will we have to show a government issued photo ID in order to VOTE? ACORN will not be happy about that! Will it be different from a passport ir “Green Card”? I travel with a passport for most of my life.

This guy is BAD NEWS.

We don't need big government, Jack-Booted-Thug bureaucrats like hime, Obama, and their ilk to know WHO's Who in America.

it is their type of Fascism that is more dangerous from within, than almost any threat from without.

Freeman (a liberal Jew?) is friends with, and DIRTY with the money of, our enemies/potential enemies (China, Saudis, Hamas, etc.), and goes as far as saying the Chinese did not go far enough, or act quick enough to quash the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.

Add to that, the fact that he bad mouths one of best allies in the world - Israel.

If his idea of using extreme force against protesting citizens is coupled with his other extreme, I would say, anti-American/anti-FREEDOM views, as well as leading a vital US intelligence agency, and promoting the establishment of identity cards (show us your papers) - we Patriots are entirely CORRECT to prepare for the worst by stocking up on supplies, guns, ammunition, magazines, etc.

Keep your powder dry ladies and gents.

On the one hand, this would be fun to play with (though I'd bet that violation of any nation ID scheme would be a felony of some sort). On the other hand, I probably have a de facto national ID already.
