Congress on Tuesday cleared a $410 billion measure to fund the government, sending it to President Barack Obama for his signature. Most Republicans denounced it as an example of reckless spending.
The Senate approved the measure by voice after it cleared a key procedural hurdle by a 62-35 vote. Sixty votes were required to shut down debate.
Obama will sign the measure Wednesday, the White House said, but he will also announce steps aimed at curbing lawmakers' penchant for pet projects.

It's getting hard to keep track these days :(
What a lying Congress we have.
Good grief!
Too mucking fuch
I guess it’s official. We are a kleptocracy.
They have no awareness of any limitations of the money supply!
But what the hell, we are already broke beyond belief so who cares how much we spend anymore!
I would hope there will be somebody left to clean up the mess after the party is all over!
10. Republicans need not bother to even ask for any.
9. Make sure all of the year's spending bills are signed before announcing any such ideas.
8. Define the Department of Defense to be a "Pet Project".
7. No more bridges to nowhere. ALL bridges built must connect a small business owner to his place of business (per directive of VP Biden).
6. Each of the first daughters is limited to one pet.
5. No more gifts of any kind to visiting heads of state... even DVDs
4. The Department of Homeland Security is official declared to be a "Pet Project" and will be eliminated.
3. Arbor Day is renamed to ACORN Day, and will be a Federal Holiday. Oops... wait: that is a pet project. But it's Obama's, so it doesn't count.
2. Accountants are declared to be Pet Projects. Democrats will be exempted from taxation to reduce the nation's burden on accountants.
and finally....
1. Each Democrat lawmaker has a real, enforceable spending limit of $1 Trillion per term.
Yeah, which is the budget and which is the triple the budget amount extra?
Yeah, the gubmint a bunch of kleptomaniacs alright.
I’m astounded that Evan Bayh my senator voted no.
I suppose the cynical view is that there were enough RINOs to let him take cover and posture for reelection in Indiana.
3 votes.
Spector, Snowe, & Collins?
Spector and Snowe at it again.
Spector must know he is on his death bed and his family has been promised something big.
