Thank God for the Tea Parties! I’m tired of all the kool aid drinkers.

As cathartic as these things are, symbolism is not an acceptable substitute for substance. The time that is spent preparing for these events would be better served doing something which will have lasting impact.

Eagerly awaiting your suggestions.

Personally, I'm thinking tar, feathers and pitchforks, what say you?

1. Run for any elected office
2. Call your elected representatives to the point of being annoying
3. Boycott specific products
4. Attend local government meetings
5. Invite elected officials to speak to your group.

My problem with the tea parties? They defuse the situation. People get together with their signs and megaphones and in the end produce nothing. They are basically tail-gate parties.

tea parties are a distraction.

They are now being pushed by opportunists.

If we want to have a REAL infuence people should do what you said,

AND

they should take over their local GOP.

If 20 or 30 local republicans from Freerepublic.com were to go to a local GOP club, they could get one of their own voted into leadership.

I’ve done all of the with the exception of #1. If you’re interested in running for office, or know of someone who is and shares your views you/they may be able to give a speech at one of the tea parties in front of a whole bunch of like minded constituents.

They SOUND good, but most of them are more of long term thingEy. We need to speak up NOW before the gubmint destroys our economy further and get our grand children and their children in so much debt and continuing recession.

The more of us “silent majority” speak up, they will have to listen if they want to get re-elected. We have to make a point by being VOCAL. Don’t be too sure that we are accomplishing nothing.
