President Obama Establishes New White House Cultural Post

President Barack Obama has established a new staff position in his White House with the task of overseeing arts and culture, Kareem Dale. Dale, a partially-blind lawyer previously served as national disability director for Obama's campaign and served on the arts policy committee for Obama in Illinois.

No details have been provided about the specific job duties as of yet, but it's been described as "a big step forward in terms of connecting cultural and goverment with mainstream administration policy."

Oh, this is such crap. During the Grammy’s (yeah, I’m a music fan) the head guy stood up and gave a speech about how we need an arts czar. Governmentalize the arts. THAT always works well. Ask Solzhentisyn.

Oh, I am so mad.

And remember the Tribble episode of Star Trek? How can Obama just keep CREATING more government unchecked?

“Kareem”? A Minister of Culture, just like the Euros have. The assumption: without government “oversight”,there is no culture. This gets more frightening and more un-American with each passing day.

And what makes me suspect that "Kareem" will have little time for America's bedrock culture, the English speaking political ethos and western Christian values that made America a light unto the peoples of he world?

OK, this crack me up. Is this guy a graffiti artist?

To appreciate art, one has to SEE it fully! With his half vision, it will lead to a lot of misinterpretation.

What are this guy's Art credentials? What art school did he study at or graduate from? any degrees?

Is this guy going to dictate to us what we can and cannot paint? What we can listen to?

How's his hearing?

The way to subvert this from our point of view, and I’m quite serious, is to demand that he leans on Hollywood for promoting violence and pornography (which covers pretty much 100% of all productions.)

Unfortunately the US Constitution requires the federal government to fund the arts. What "art" is can be argued.

Doesn’t he have any kind of constraint? He’s running amok here with all these new positions. For one thing, where is the money coming from? (Never mind, I know the answer to that!) And, is there no limit to the number of people he can put on the government payroll? Surely he doesn’t have the authority to do all this. He’s acting more and more like a dictator all the time.
