Post-Rush: Obama's message war
Politico ^ | 3/14/09 | Mike Allen

Posted on 03/14/2009 9:46:21 PM PDT by cdchik123

Beginning Sunday, the White House will harness every part of the Democratic Party’s machinery to defend President Obama’s budget and portray Republicans as reflexively political, according to party strategists.

A participant in the planning meetings described the push as a successor to Democrats’ message that Rush Limbaugh is the Republican Party leader. “We have exhausted the use of Rush as an attention-getter,” the official said.

David Plouffe, manager of Obama’s presidential race, helped design the strategy, which includes the most extensive activation since November of the campaign’s grassroots network. The database—which includes information for at least 10 million donors, supporters and volunteers—will now be used as a unique tool for governing, with former canvassers now being enlisted to mobilize support for the president’s legislative agenda.

Others involved in the planning included White House senior adviser David Axelrod; the DNC chairman, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine; and DNC Executive Director Jennifer O'Malley Dillon.

"portray Republicans as reflexively political"

The only thing better for Republicans, would be to become innately political. We just don't live it and breathe it like the Left.

Which is how we came to be where we are. FR participants excepted, of course.

Oh hell yes. And Democrats are bambis, bunnies, pooh bears, pretty birdies, snow white, Cinderella, sleeping beauty and the good witch of the east all rolled into one. Those pure hearted Democrats don't have a political bone in their bodies. Agenda? Who? The Democrats? Don't be silly wabbit.

Obama isn't a fantasy/enigma anymore. Let the "Lefty Legions" push the agenda. They know it's BS. We have nothing to lose by saying to their faces.

One question that came out of the whole Rush campaign sticks with me, which is, what about Obama debating Rush? I wonder how Obama would perform in an honest debate about policy differences?

Heck I wish we could have had an honest debate last year about these things in the campaign and presidential debates. I hope that in 2012 there can be an honest debate. By then, he will have instituted his socialist policies and we will see the bad results, and he won’t be able to blame anything on leftover Bush messes by that time.

one thing the dems have done well is use the internet to organize, especially among the young

If you look at the numbers, McCain ended up getting around 60M votes or so when all the votes were counted.

Instead of Michael Steele putting his foot in his mouth every day, he should be figuring out to get those 60M people all, or even a small fraction to start with, all on some list that can be called up at a moment;s notice.

Let’s say he’s able to get even 6M or so, a mere 10%. You ask each of them to contribute a minimum $15 to something and all of a sudden you have $100M like that for whatever cause or initiative is of the moment. That would help a great deal in elections where Obama’s money advantage was huge. It would also be huge in issue ads.

We can’t keep outspent 5-1 and expect to win elections. We can’t keep letting Obama and the dems spend unprecedented amounts on propoganda commericals and expect their message not to penetrate the consciousness. For example Obama spent hundreds of millions saying tax cuts for 95%, McCain will raise taxes on health insurance, and who knows what elese, even if was all false, it still sinks in when you spend that kind of cash. Bush outspent Kerry by 40M in 2004, McCain was outspent by close to 300M in 2008. That goes a long way towards explaining why one won and the other lost and if that disparity continues, it’ll be a long time before we win again.

If Rush really wants to help conservatives, he’d work on getting his 20M listeners engaged in a similar fashion.

There’s plenty of time and this all doesn’t have to be done overnight.

But by the fall of 2010 and certainly by the fall of 2012, there’s no reason why a concerted effort can be succesful

Okay, so what step is this in the plan to totally socialize the nation? Rush, Hannity, Newt and the conservative political thinktank should already know the steps to communism and be able to fight the agenda and even EXPOSE the total plan so that it doesn’t happen, like John Nash’s Equilibrium theory?

If this doesn't reveal their true intention, nothing will.

How to Destroy the World's Greatest Economy and Gain Absolute Power in 8 Easy Steps:

Photobucket

How in hell did we get where we are right now? Lots of people are asking themselves that question as the greatest nation in the history of the world teeters on the precipice. The precipice of what? The precipice of a nightmare of collectivism and government control of our lives. I thought it might be useful to look at how Obama and the hate-America left are accomplishing what they really want more than anything- the comeuppance of America. Eight Easy Steps

Step 1 - Undermine the integrity of the credit system. That can be accomplished by whining endlessly about "unfairness" in lending practices, lumping individuals into convenient groups and demanding, even legislating, that all GROUPS should be lent to equally. That forces lenders to ignore the borrower's ability to repay, in order to comply with onerous federal regulations like the Community Reinvestment Act that require you to loan to specific GROUPS.

Step 2 - Use strength in the economy to extend Step 1 to the breaking point. Encourage undocumented loans to illegal aliens and the chronically jobless, and make sure that federally chartered institutions like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are run by people who are "down for the struggle," and who will use their positions to encourage and engage in MASSIVE fraud... distorting home prices and creating an enormous bubble.

Step 3 - Use positions in key places like the House Finance Committee to run interference for the fraud. Accuse anyone looking into the matter or showing concern of racism against the favored GROUPS, identified by race or class. Deny, deny, deny. If you're really ballsy, you can even say that anyone asking questions is just trying to raise a "general shibboleth," and make sure and comment on the "outstanding leadership" that the federal institutions have.... even as they spin towards the edge.

Step 4 - At an opportune political moment, like, say... an election year, have someone do a kneecap job on one of the more overextended lenders... like IndyMac Bank, and create a panic over the wild lending practices of the banks. That will get the ball rolling fast.

Step 5 - Accuse the banks of manipulation and dishonesty. Say that the banks wanted to make the loans out of greed. It's ALMOST the truth.. they had to make the bad loans to get leverage to make the good ones. Since the banks are imploding at this time, they won't put much effort into denying the charge.... and no one will look at YOU as the cause.

Step 6 - Now that the banks are imploding, offer them a hand. Give them a HUGE bailout package that is guaranteed to piss of voters and, we all know, won't do a damn thing to solve the problem, but it WILL create huge class envy and anger... and we know who that benefits. Use this anger to gain more control over the private sector... you can even say they NEED it! It's brilliant, because you gain control over the institutions even as you use our economic freedom like so much political capital to enrage the mindless masses.

Step 7 - After winning the election, have the President talk down the markets relentlessly. Offer NO HOPE but government. Say ONLY GOVERNMENT can solve our current crisis. Don't entertain any other solutions and use the world's biggest bully pulpit to attack the free market system. Show how it has failed the people.... and offer a "better" way... collectivize problems and use the alienation of the merchant class as a lever against capitalism in general. Again, they are now on the dole, so they won't say anything.

Step 8 - After all of this, some people will be begging for the government to take control, and, after you have peed in the capitalist pool and scared away as many investors as you can.. only one investor remains standing who is dumb enough to invest in such a losing situation.... the government.

Finally - Banks control capital. Capital is necessary for capitalism. Control the banks and you can kill capitalism. Game over.

IOW, he isn't Joe the Plumber and they can't get as much mileage out of Rush as they did out of Sarah Palin. Time to move onto something that is less of a lightening rod for the dems.

Are others as sick and mad as I am about this sentence -- they've "used up" a private citizen as much as they can to make political hay?

The Internet wouldn't matter a bit if public education hadn't extolled socialism and communism for 40 years and had actually taught freedom, liberty and capitalism. We have lost a good chunk of the younger generation who were softened up with the carpet bombing to accept the mass message spread via the Internet.

I read somewhere that Rick Santorum’s think tank has developed some incredible voter targeting software (I cannot remember the name of it at present) that he was going to make available. But the friction between the Rockefellers of the Republicans and the social conservatives like Rick must have kept that from happening.

I rarely watch the Sunday morning shows these days but did watch a few minutes with Summers on Stephanopolous, and then the entire McConnell interview with him....

Wake the F up, Republicans. As is common knowledge by now Stephanapolous still has weekly calls with BEGALA AND CARVILLE and this interview once again proved it... softballs for Summers and an agressive interoggation technique short interupted questions, clips of a DEMOCRAT COMMERCIAL calling the Republicans do nothings, etc...Couldn’t have been worse if Ploufe himself was doing the “interview”...

Worst of All.. McConnell was mute and the most animated he got was to go at AIG.

Wake UP Republicans!!!
