Post-Rush: Obama's message war
Politico ^ | 3/14/09 | Mike Allen

Beginning Sunday, the White House will harness every part of the Democratic Party’s machinery to defend President Obama’s budget and portray Republicans as reflexively political, according to party strategists.

A participant in the planning meetings described the push as a successor to Democrats’ message that Rush Limbaugh is the Republican Party leader. “We have exhausted the use of Rush as an attention-getter,” the official said.

David Plouffe, manager of Obama’s presidential race, helped design the strategy, which includes the most extensive activation since November of the campaign’s grassroots network. The database—which includes information for at least 10 million donors, supporters and volunteers—will now be used as a unique tool for governing, with former canvassers now being enlisted to mobilize support for the president’s legislative agenda.

Others involved in the planning included White House senior adviser David Axelrod; the DNC chairman, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine; and DNC Executive Director Jennifer O'Malley Dillon.

IOW, he isn’t Joe the Plumber and they can’t get as much mileage out of Rush as they did out of Sarah Palin.

IOW, he isn’t Joe the Plumber and they can’t get as much mileage out of Rush as they did out of the McCain-Palin campaign. Palin was muzzled by the McCain handlers (on purpose).

He hires the three biggest hatchet men from the Clinton era as his close buds: Rahm Emmanual, Carville and Begala.

Don't forget Georgie Clintonopoulos stealing paychecks over at ABC News. These guys are all working for Obama and checking with each other hundreds of times a day -- someone FOIA'd their phone records and got the goods.

Begala and Georgie Boy are only pretending to work for CNN and ABC respectively.

That said, Rahm Emanuel is the hit-team leader, Frank Nitti to Obama's Al Capone.

Not only did the Rush offensive backfire (and how), but the dums biggest obstacle right now is themselves. There is grow opposition with conservative and moderate dems in both houses. They are the ones that will kill legislation.

So Hussien wants to go after the GOP now? That is as brilliant as going after Rush. People will see the stupidity of this by Friday.

I read somewhere that Rick Santorum’s think tank has developed some incredible voter targeting software (I cannot remember the name of it at present) that he was going to make available. But the friction between the Rockefellers of the Republicans and the social conservatives like Rick must have kept that from happening.

I rarely watch the Sunday morning shows these days but did watch a few minutes with Summers on Stephanopolous, and then the entire McConnell interview with him....

Wake the F up, Republicans. As is common knowledge by now Stephanapolous still has weekly calls with BEGALA AND CARVILLE and this interview once again proved it... softballs for Summers and an agressive interoggation technique short interupted questions, clips of a DEMOCRAT COMMERCIAL calling the Republicans do nothings, etc...Couldn’t have been worse if Ploufe himself was doing the “interview”...

Worst of All.. McConnell was mute and the most animated he got was to go at AIG.

Wake UP Republicans!!!
