Dodgy science strangles industry (Ca. Local Lib Actually Gets It.)
Bakersfield Californian ^ | Mar 16 2009 | LOIS HENRY

We are about to cripple California’s trucking and construction industries for absolutely no good reason. If I really believed the California Air Resources Board’s draconian new diesel emissions standards would save thousands of lives a year, I might say, sorry guys, you gotta suck it up for the greater good. But when you scratch the surface of the alleged science used by CARB to justify these rules, there’s just no “there” there. Our air is NOT killing us, despite what the “environmental alarmist complex” would have us believe.

BUT YOU JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND! AIR QUALITY IS HORRIBLE AND IT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE! No kidding - where I am right now, the air that I’m TRYING to breath is almost 80% nitrogen! We’ve got to turn this situation around right this millisecond!

(do I really need a /sarc tag? really?)

Wow.

Now can they please go after the trees that produce CO2 during the night time dark hours? Damn those trees anyway...

/sarc just in case.

At times it contains a lot of Dihydrogen Oxide gas also.

If the trucking companies were smart, they’d refuse to deliver loads to CA for a week, and watch the ensuing hilarity. Extend the time to a month if the legislation isn’t repealed.

And last year alone, there were almost 4,000 documented deaths in the US alone from dihydrogen monoxide (DHMO). And the California legislature ignores this fact and continues to encourage importation of DHMO into the state.

I’d love to see some Republican create a bill banning dihydrogen monoxide And then see who votes for it.

That movement is already in the works!

Enjoy!

At least California has put it’s foot down and is not letting farmers apply the nasty stuff to the crops they grow this year.

I'd bet a lot ignorant critters (a majority, IMHO) would jump onboard if you asked them to sign on before their staff could stop them.

Sort of like the math-challenged Congress Critter from Ohio last week who had her floor speech (transcript and video) posted on her web site claiming some pork bill she supported would create 480 million new jobs.

It wasn't until an hour or so after we started making fun of her here that they pulled the video and transcript from her web site.

Those people by and large are sad jokes --- and we get the kind of government you would expect when people like that are put in power.
