This is not only bad policy but is personally dangerous to Obama.
It is generally not considered smart to p@ss off men and women that have been trained to maim and kill. Couple that with a high rate of stress and mental illness and this is the height of stupidity.
As a case worker for our wounded and a person who loves our military dearly - this has my blood boiling!! And by the way...Michelle Obama - you are one big LIAR.
That was another reason I thought this was a walking contradition because Michelle was just complaining, or so I heard through the media, that it was unfair how our military was being treated.
The last thing Obama wants is to have a wedge between him and Michelle. This guy can’t be sleeping at night. If he’s not removed this will be a very long 4 years. It’s first 116 days has been hell.

Are you saying that a reservist with a regular job who's out on his weekend drill on an exercise in the boonies, who steps in a hole and sprains his ankle, should have the care of that ankle covered by his civilian job insurance, rather than DOD or VA?

I am beyond reasonably angry at this. I simply cannot wrap my mind around this.
Just emailed my Congressperson and told them if they do nothing else for the people of this nation, STOP THIS FROM COMING TO PASS!

Not at all. After serving in the US Army for 23 years I am not for seeing any veteran lose one cent of benefits. I am aware, however that many people on this site equate the word veteran with combat veteran. Many of those same people read service connected injury and automatically think of some GI losing a leg to an IED in Iraq. You can see that thought process in the title of this thread. I am also confident that if the last eight years had been combat free the reaction to this policy proposal would have been muted or nonexistent.
