After the September 11 attacks, commercial airline pilots were allowed to carry guns if they completed a federal-safety program. No longer would unarmed pilots be defenseless as remorseless hijackers seized control of aircraft and rammed them into buildings.
Now President Obama is quietly ending the federal firearms program, risking public safety on airlines in the name of an anti-gun ideology.
The Obama administration this past week diverted some $2 million from the pilot training program to hire more supervisory staff, who will engage in field inspections of pilots.
This looks like completely unnecessary harassment of the pilots. The 12,000 Federal Flight Deck Officers, the pilots who have been approved to carry guns, are reported to have the best behavior of any federal law enforcement agency. There are no cases where any of them has improperly brandished or used a gun. There are just a few cases where officers have improperly used their IDs.
Fewer than one percent of the officers have any administrative actions brought against them and, we are told, virtually all of those cases “are trumped up.”

And many vote democrat simply because their family, for generations, has voted democrat. No conscious thought, just the fact that dad or granddad voted democrat is the only basis of their vote.

This should make us feel a lot safer. Now when we fly, if a terrorist using a box cutter takes control of the plane, we won’t have to worry about being hit by a stray bullet fired from the gun of one of those pesky pilots.
So Obama says the good guys can’t have guns for defense.
The disarming of America is right on schedule.

Why do we still have nuclear armed bombers when we know they will all be shot down ? We have them to make sure they have to committ a lot of resources to shooting them down.

It might be that the only way this all gets stopped is if a LOT of people get hurt, have nothing left to lose, and take positive steps to throw off this authoritarian regime before it has a chance to establish itself permanently.

Saturday I had a short conversation with one of my sisters-in-law. I have nothing against her but she is about as airheaded as one can be. I said something about the birth certificate hubbub and she knew nothing about it! She says she reads the Charlotte Observor and watches the TV news and takes it all as face value. She is as ignorant of reality as if she kept her head in a bucket.
