Obama Puts Immigration Reform on Docket ( Wants Illegals given citizenship )

On his very full plate, immigration was one issue that President Obama had yet to take on - until yesterday, when he discussed it with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

At a town hall meeting in southern California yesterday, Obama renewed his support for comprehensive reform, including a possible path to citizenship for law-abiding people who entered the country illegally, along the lines of the bill that stalled in Congress in 2007.

According to the White House account of yesterday's one-hour closed session, it was "a robust and strategic meeting" in which Obama announced he will go to Mexico next month to meet President Calderón and discuss, among other issues, effective, comprehensive immigration reform.

After the meeting, Representative Luis V. Gutierrez of Illinois, chairman of the Hispanic caucus's immigration task force, and advocacy groups said they were hopeful that Obama would address immigration reform this year.

"Although it is very early in his administration, he understands that for the immigrant community it's the 11th hour, and there is no time to waste," Gutierrez said in a statement.

Janet Murguía, president and CEO of the National Council of La Raza, added, "While we agree that our priority should be fixing the nation's economy, we also believe that we can initiate an immigration reform that will help us achieve long-term economic growth."

Well, we all know what this is about...voters...the same reason the 'Rats have pushed for "Motor Voter"... For years, the 'Rats claimed that illegals should be allowed to obtain driver's licenses when anyone with HS education knows that ANYONE from around the world can drive in America legally as long as they have a legal driver's license from their home country. BUT, of course, the only reason 'Rats want illegals to be able to obtain a driver's license is so they can go to the next window at the DMV and REGISTER TO VOTE. And that is exactly what Hussein's REAL reason for making it easy for illegals to obtain citizenship, so they can VOTE DEMOCRAT. A whole new group of people dependent on the "mommy party" Democrats for their livelihood!

Yup!

The stimulus will eventually run it’s course but the “immigration reform” will change the US forever....in fact it already has, this will just make it official.

Why doesn't Obama just annex the rest of the world and make them all American citizens? Then he can achieve his next job goal of king of the universe.

*Wants Illegals given citizenship*

Illegals already costing San Diego mega millions a year.
They will flood across the San Diego - Tijuana border by
the thousands everyday.

They will live where?

They come from a culture, when you are 15 or 16 time to drop out of school and the rest of your life living off the government and having mega children by various people.

I hate to break this to the moronic Commie ‘RATS but they DON’T WANT CITIZENSHIP! They want jobs and dinero! It’s only you morons who want them to become citizens in order for you to expand your voter base and to force them to join your greedy Commie pig unions.

As a matter of fact, yes.

McCain Tells Mexico: Border Security First ..... Republican U.S. presidential nominee John McCain told Mexican leaders security at the border is a precondition of immigration reform

And I suppose you think America is better off with Obama destroying the American economy because McCain said that illegals that WENT BACK TO MEXICO AND GOT AT THE END OF THE GREEN CARD LINE would be considered for admission to the U.S. once their number came up many years down the road? Sheesh

You people hate McCain more than you give a rat's ass about America.

Some folks are satisfied having Obozo rather than McCain.
It gives them a bigger target to gripe about.
We wouldn’t want to solve problems now would we.

The govt and mortgage industry (what is left of it) do not have the personnel (human resources in progressive terminology) to process a few million mortgage revisions much less 30 million + and rapidly expanding illegals. Early in the Bush administration amnesty was proposed and 750,000 applied...the govt only handled about 20,000 and the rest of the paperwork went to a govt. warehouse in Wash., DC. Processing the millions of illegals is not possible.

I suppose a national swearing in ceremony with not one illegal immigrant actually present or documented could take place and remain continually operative after the fact for anyone crossing the border or arriving by sea. Vote as “often as possible on election day” could be the mantra of ACORN ‘get out the vote’ efforts.

I suppose, simply, that an executive order could be issued.
Knowing that 56% of the Mexican population wants to cross the border, think of what will come when Mexico really falls apart....or, with amnesty...BEFORE!

Just thinking.
Just thinking.

When this becomes law the country is over. Forever.

I might be just wishful thinking, but from my reading of the populace, I think Mr. Hope&Change has about cashed his check.

The vast populace is already way tired of "iniatives" and "reforms." And in any event, Obama doesn't have the goodwill to get them done.
