"...if environmental activists don’t keep it from happening."

Someday there will be a backlash against these tree huggers and it won't be pretty.

The little secret, is that even the European countries excepted genetically engineered enzymes from their legislative bans, so almost all processed foods like cheese and bread, and almost all wine and beer worldwide are made using genetically engineered enzymes.

Most people do not have a clue about the technology and do not realize that most vegetables grown today have been genetically manipulated going back to the early 1900’s. However, it is still a great way for Greenpeace and Friends of Earth to raise funds for their operations. The horse is already out of the barn, but these groups can still raise funds from unsuspecting people for their organizing activities.

Also, Bjorn is preaching to the European countries, the USA, South American countries like Brazil and Argentina, and China and India have been growing genetically engineered soy beans, corn, rice, etc. for 10 years.

People don’t starve because there isn’t enough food to go around, they starve because governments choose to let their people starve. It is kind of hard to get food to people in North Korea or parts of Africa when the military bares you from entering and seizes all foodstuffs and other donations.

As long as a cheap vegetable that tastes like bacon comes out of this, then I’m all for it.
